SRV1990 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Heading down tomorrow morning and will be there until Sunday. Was wondering if anyone has been in and around the Aunts Creek area (or within a few mile markers) and if so, any information you can share would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Tom "You can always justify putting off a decision... but you can't put off the results of indecision."
fishingaddiction Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I had a good day Saturday, but was fishing south of Aunts Creek down toward Joe Bald. I fished for about 4 hours Saturday morning, and caught 8 total, with 3 SM, 2 K's, and 3 LM. My best fish was a 3 lbs. LM. All were caught with stick baits on points, secondary points, and transition banks from ledge to chunk/gravel banks. Also fished the A-rig, but didn't get any on it, I figured that I wasn't fishing it deep enough. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Codywskeeter1521 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Was there yesterday it was very slow for us. I fished a a rig and a jerk bait also a wart and jig with no luck... It was the worst day we've had on the rock in 12 years... Would like to see if we were the only one that had a hard time.. Thank you uys
fishingaddiction Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I also fished yesterday, and only caught one short SM in 3 hours. Sunday was a nice day, but not for fishing. I fished the same type of areas that were good Saturday. The only difference in the two days was the weather, and Sunday was post front with blue bird sky. The rain was good to me Saturday. LOL! Sorry it was so tough for you, hopefully it gets better this week, although the weather the next few days isn't exactly promising. Thanks! We don't mind heading down to Joe Bald, so thanks for the info! "You can always justify putting off a decision... but you can't put off the results of indecision."

SRV1990 Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Read, read, read. It's all here brother. Trust me, I've read every word of that thread, some posts more than once! I guess I didn't realize the areas fished were in or near Aunts Creek. I'll go back and re-read it... again! Thanks!!! SRV1990 Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Sorry Berk, I retract my previous post. Mr. Babler clearly states they started in Aunts Creek in his report... I think I need to pay closer attention next time! "You can always justify putting off a decision... but you can't put off the results of indecision."
*T* Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 And to think you comprehension of the written word is better than your fishing prowess, you best just drag some nightcrawlers around the dock for google-eyes. Really, good luck Tom. Let me know how it goes. Wear out the jig, stickbait, wigglewart & grub. Spinnerbait by cedars/pole timber when wind gets up. You know we are there in a week or two and value your fishing report. "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci

Threw an a-rig for a while, also a wiggle wart and a jerkbait. Had a few hits, but couldn't bring anything to the boat. I've been here when the weather's been better, but it beats work! Will use as much of the advice on here as possible and get back at it tomorrow. Thanks all! Tom "You can always justify putting off a decision... but you can't put off the results of indecision."
