Members BurlesonDL Posted April 1, 2013 Members Posted April 1, 2013 Hey guys. As a missplaced Tennessee boy(now in Overland Park), I've become pretty fond of Table Rock and, even more so, LOZ. Compared to these mudholes in Kansas I feel like I'm in my backyard down there. Anyways, my wife is looking to head down with me for a weekend and after some pretty dissapointing stays in some roach motels (which shall remain unnamed) I figured I could ask you all for a recommendation. Some type of small cottage/cabin would be great, and a single bed is plenty big enough (we've only been married 2 years, so we don't mind the close quarters). I'll throw a list of possibilites I have found down below, but if there was anything like the Holiday Hideaway on Table Rock I would be EXTREMELY happy. We had a ball down there last year and WILL be going back. Thanks for the help! Potential Locations Rock Harbor Silver Sands Lake Breeze Knotty Pine Kon Tiki Point View
fishinwrench Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Potential Locations Rock Harbor = not Silver Sands = not Lake Breeze = ? Do you mean Breezy Point? If so... 3stars. Knotty Pine = Rustic, low key.... possibly too much so for a non-fishing spouse ...3 stars Kon Tiki = no knowledge Point View = ...4 stars
Members jeffhamelau Posted April 2, 2013 Members Posted April 2, 2013 Me and a group of friend go down every year very early april for our anual crappie fishing trip. we have stayed at a lot of different resorts. Since we are so early in the year we normaly dont get much as far as the pools and such being open. the last 2 years we have stayed at Runaway2resort. Works good for us and is in a very quit cove. Pool is not open but the resturant is. In the past we have stayed at LakeVeiw. Indoor pool open and they even have a condo setup that we used one year and we really enjoyed ourselfs. Several years back we stayed at Alhonna Resort and again indoor pool was open. resturant and bar was open as well. We have stayed at Rock Harbor a couple time. Fine for the fisherman but not much else to brag about. Stayed at Knotty pine as well but that was 15 years ago. 15 years ago rustic was a good description. In the end it all comes down to the amount of money you want to spend. If you are not afraid to drop some coin. look at Tan-Tar-A resort. Had a friend a few years ago that let us stay at his condo for the weekend. As a group of fisherman in May we where for sure standing out but as far as having EVERYTHING from.Golf, shopping, horse riding, swimming they seemed to have it all. All the resorts i have mentioned have web sights. Good luck. Hope you have fun.
WHARFRAT Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 A lot of Condos allow rentals and they are pretty nice units for the most part. Everyone that I've stayed in was as affordable as most resorts, especially if you are going during the off-season. They usually come with a boat slip and I've even had them with lifts. @lozcrappie
WeekendWarrior Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Golden Horseshoe is a very clean and nice resort with good pricing. We have been staying there for years. They are located at about 10 mm in Horseshoe Bend area. They have a website to do your research. Tell them Steve from Jeff. Co. Hawg Hunters sent you.
