Feathers and Fins Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Actually I read it and saw littlereds comments regarding others comments Wow, I have to say some of the comments on here made about Crowbar are pretty harsh. Wasn't my intention for stir something like this up, it's not my style, you can look up any of my threads in regards to people keeping the fish. No intent to piss anyone off. If I wanted to do that I could have very easily! My intention was to try and convey that others opinions do not matter so long as it is legal to do so. The elitist attitude as I told Chief is something most of have seen in the past and even on this site IE they are better than others because they release the fish and everyone else should do as they say. I also messed around with Mitch when I FIFYed his post. But pissing people off seems to be your intent or why would you say Is it that you are so pissed off at our black President that youve got to think that anyone releasing a fish and not firing dual pistols in the air like yosemite sam has got to be some self-rightous elitist? Seriously throwing racist comments out. Hard to take anything seriously from you after that. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Bird Watcher Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 So what does everyone think about concealed carry? How about the State Hwy Patrol releasing that list the other day? Crazy, right?
Al Agnew Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Yes, he has a perfect right to keep those fish if it's legal. And yes, there is an element of, not jealousy, but sadness and perhaps anger among those of us who believe that such fish are far more valuable in the stream than in the frying pan. I'm not jealous of him, I'm just sad that those fish will no longer be in that river for others to catch, including the people who place so much more value in them. The idea that it's legal so it's his right doesn't take into account that releasing those fish would be making that river a better fishery. One size fits all regulations...but not all streams are the same, and we've had the discussion before that if the regulations were not so much tailored to sustained harvest and a little more toward improving the size structure of the bass population, most of us would be happier. And the reality is that smaller bass, under 15 inches, are MUCH better eating, with better flavor than fish that big. I believe in eating fish. But I also believe that the South Fork has helped give Crowbar a certain amount of fame and fortune, and I don't think he's repaying it very well by keeping fish like that.
Chief Grey Bear Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 No I did not say you are one and you know it. but keep coming to threads trying to stir the pot now that I would definitely say is a true assessment. Maybe you didn't know that I have been posting on this thread since page 1. It was you that waited until page 3 to jump in and stir the pot. Stirring the pot? I'll go back and check but it appears as if I and others on this thread are on the same page with the keeping of large fish. My assessment is, you are not very good at accessing. Can't say I like that idea. But I am not a fan of CC either. If you want to carry, then carry. Why should you have to get a permit from the governemnt to carry a weapon? Isn't that an infringment of our right? Feathers and Fins Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Na Chief, I'm tired of people telling others what to do and it came to a head last week. I stopped off to fish little sugar for awhile near the BV Golf course and watched a kid about 12 to 14 catch a real nice smallie and decided to keep it only to listen to 3 other anglers all adults chew into him for putting it on the stringer to the point I walked up and told them leave the kid alone before I called AGFC for harassment. People seem to think I only fish Beaver when the fact is I fish all types of places I know conservation but I also know the law and personal opinion needs to be kept in check not forced on others. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Feathers and Fins Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Constitution has nothing to do with this! But if you want to take it to that level I support the Arkansas law which says It is unlawful for any person to willfully obstruct or impede the participation of any individual in the lawful activity of shooting, hunting, fishing, or trapping in this state. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Chief Grey Bear Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Every state has the same law. But I am not aware of any law that says you can't teach others proper ethics. Nobody else was there but, I have a hard time believing that they were yelling and screaming at the boy. Flysmallie Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Nobody else was there but, I have a hard time believing that they were yelling and screaming at the boy. I don't know if it happened or not, not defending anyone here. But that kind of thing has happened to me. And the guys that did it would have easily done it to a kid.
