Probably the only problem I have with this forum is how sometimes we, me included, devolve to the lowest level to try to prove our point. Watch how this hunter handles what starts out as a confrontation with a vegan, and ends up as an honorable disagreement. We should all watch, learn, and live a little better.

Both people in the video could have gone to the dark side but chose the high road. Behind a keyboard you can go the wrong direction more easily

That was a pretty good performance by the author. The vegan guy was out to pick a fight. The dinner invitation was a nice touch.

I agree. Calm. Talking. Disagreeing, yet empathetic. Finding common ground somehow. Our elected representatives could learn something from this clip.

Of note: Notice the particular use of verbiage: "harvest" on one side, "murder" on the other.

Thanks for posting this, mic. I agree that's a good model for parties who disagree. The book author did the right thing by focusing on the content of the question and had the self confidence to deal with the content of the vegan's point without seeing it as a personal attack.

I'm sure the author had a couple of well rehearsed responses ready to go depending on the situation ( I would have), and I do think the vegan was trying to push the buttons a little. I've also seen how people in political "town hall" forums tend to get a little crazy when they stand in front of a microphone. I guess they think they are going to end up on their political party's website as a hero.
