Beaver can be tough - my in-laws live in Beaver Cove (Between the two Cliftys) and I know it usually isn't the best spot for bigger fish this time of year. Sometimes, maybe, every once in a while type thing. Still fun to ride along and get the experience though, isn't it?

Found this link on TW's website. Christie went up the White to get his fish and he was fishing the a-rig shallow. I thought it was also interesting that he caught the big fish of the tournament at 6 /12 pounds, you'd think this time of year there'd be an 8 lb. or two caught by one of the pros. You just don't see the big girls being caught in Beaver like other lakes.

That's because the big girls are smarter and have been caught about a dozen times in their life. :P

As much pressure as that lake sees....there are some fish that have never seen a lure but there are those who see them all day long.

Well Table Rock gets just as pounded as Beaver but yet gives up the bigger fish, and more of them, relative to Beaver. My off the cuff observation, can't back it up with any stats.

Christie's 6-08 was the second biggest weighed in the flw on beaver dating back to 2005. A co-angler caught a 6-10 in 2011. Although, Beaver may not give up a lot of big girls, it's obvious looking back over the years that it's tending the right way. Each of the two everett tournaments, the big bass has been 7+.

I've heard the same thing many times. I need to try Table Rock soon myself. Never fished it.

Yep I agree it's getting better, but is it better than Table Rock, or Grand, or Bull? Will it ever be better than the other big reservoirs in the area (for black bass)? I'd like it to be.

Me, too! It's not unusual to have a 20-30 bass day on TR and then turn around and get almost blanked on Beaver the next day, even with the same conditions. TR is much friendlier in giving up the fish, there's no question in my mind about that. And the size does run bigger on them.

OK kids, let's all sing along now .... One of these things is not like the other ... la la lah ...

So how does Beaver differ from Table Rock, Grand and even Bull? It's loaded up with stripers.

That's what I was thinking.
