Ok, I haven't been to that corner of town today, but I suspect that the James is rolling right now and looks pretty near the same as Nesquick Milk. Question is, do you think the water will level off and be less murky on Sunday?

When Springfield Lake is rolling mud, the fishing is extremely good. I would go up river past the 65 bridge and fish the backwater areas above that. What happens is the lake flushes mud in from the James River, but these backwater areas stay clean. The fish will pull back into these areas, not only for the clear water, but the baitfish will seek these areas out to get out of the current. Plus the fish are surely making beds in the backwater areas by now. I would have a senko rigged up wackey style, a horeny toad, and a spinner bait. You should crush on them. A few years back I seen a bed in one of these mentioned backwaters that was huge. A real monster must have been on it at one time. GOOD LUCK!!!

Was somewhat my thought. I think by Sunday, and by the looks of the gauge out at Crighton, the water should be closer to normal levels by Sunday afternoon. I do think the addition of some color to the water will help. I always do better with the dingy colored water, and I think that's one of my main draws to this lake and to the river overall.

I might give it a shot. We've been slaying crappie in flat creek on table Rock so it's kinda hard to peel myself away from that

That's the second oof the same such report I'm hearing. I won't name where I heard they were at from my source at work, in case that's the same place you guys have been catching 'em. Shocks me though, as I usually only catch smallies and goggle eye (again, not complaining).

And I've decided to go down tomorrow. Will post a report

Just got back. Definitely some current in the upper ends. Did well in the flats. Also, I caught an enormous goggle eye today. Completely took me by surprise. I guess they have moved to bed too.
