Shell Knob Area 05/10 Report

I got out early and saw a lot of debris in the water near the channel swing at Icebox. Threw a fin like bait near the debris and caught about ten fish in 30 minutes but only one was a keeper. A lot of fun though.

I moved to several spots at the mouths of pockets and concentrated on main lake points and deep docks. After it brightened up the bass tended to swirl on the topwater but miss it. The shorts would get it though.

I didn't feel like working slowly so tied on a scrounger hoping for more active fish. The better fish liked that and just hammered it when they took it. This smallie jumped three time and was a blast. Several fish took the bait within a few feet of the boat with others following.

Funny to see that SM caught on a fluke, I caught one yesterday that spit up not one, but two white Zoom flukes. I caught him on a Shakeyhead - that was one dumb fish.

Hmmm...scroungers make me think the bigger swimbait should get going soon for post spawn fish.

Might be time to unleash the bigger Keitechs on them, Lake Fork Tackle has come out with a paddletail Magic Shad that I like the looks of, haven't fished it yet however.

I have had some luck with the 3.8" keitech in hasu color here lately. And like Quill, I also like the looks of that boot tail magic shad.
