fishingaddiction Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Those are some nice blue gill, but that red ear is huge. Thanks for posting Phil. Bill, Those red ear are big enough to take on a jitterbug. I believe you. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
snakem Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Were i grew up in Mississippi there are tons of them. I have caught them up to 2# They are huge back home and darn good eating. Snakem out.
Iclass Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Read somewhere in March a guy caught a 5lb 7 oz red ear on lake havasu. Broke old record by couple oz
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 The goggle eye in the James were likely Ozark bass, which is the native rock bass. I've caught Northern Rock Bass out of TR, but I don't think they were native in the White or its tributaries. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
J.M. Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Caught a real nice redear on BS about a mouth ago also caught sevral on norfork a couple years ago FUN
Members capndan Posted May 24, 2013 Members Posted May 24, 2013 Redear fishing is really good over around Baxter in June. I usually catch several that go 1 lb when I am targeting Bluegill.
