Quillback Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Nice pics, looks like there ought to be some smallies in there.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I know where that is. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Terrierman Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Nice pics, looks like there ought to be some smallies in there. I'm going to learn to fly fish for the sunfish family. Very nice.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 There isn't a lot of learning, just throw a yellow spider on the water. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Terrierman Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 There isn't a lot of learning, just throw a yellow spider on the water. I just learned something! And when I was talking about the Sunfish Family, I was including the larger members.
Greasy B Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 The yellow spider will work for the larger members of the Sunfish family too. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Brian K. Shaffer Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Yep, there are smallies in there too. Only caught that one... but I did see about 30-40 that just wouldn't hit anything I was throwing. ( all subsurface stuff.. no topwater ) Wayne - not sure what kind, but I was told by the old man at the bait shop/reel repair place that it was a mill of some sort. You can walk clear out past the middle and reach the other bank very easily. They left the concrete in on the bottom of the creek.
