Quillback Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Soak the Mighty Walleye in buttermilk? That's like putting ketchup on a T-bone.

Quillback Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 They go in them eat one and you will be looking for gar also. Can't you just use regular, easy to clean fish? I had to bring a gar into my boat the other day, let my plastic worm sit on the bottom too long and that dang gar snapped it up. Dang things are slimy and that slime stinks and doesn't come off easy.
exiledguide Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I'm sorry F&F, I have ate and enjoyed walleye prepared a lot of ways but I don't believe anything has ever improved on deep fried with sliced potatoes onion rings in the same pot, beans, hush puppies, cole slaw, pickled green tomatoes. All on that shore lunch island about a mile north of Jery and Ellie's camp on Cedar Lake.........actually it's pretty darn good in the back yard at home. Oops forgot breading or batter of choice on the walleye and onion rings.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 Quill, I love fish and the results have made a major difference in my health so everything is a potential meal, well minus bass cant stand them out here but loved them in cali. Gar are really good and pretty simple to clean when you know how. As to the slime Ive caught Barracuda and nothing bothers me after them, their nick name is Slime Stick for a reason, as to the smell mix up 1 cup sugar in a sprayer that attaches to the hose and it takes the smell right out. EG; fry = bad on heart had to find better ways. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
