Members justincarf Posted June 28, 2013 Members Posted June 28, 2013 My best friend and I made our annual trip out to the Current last week (June 20 - 23rd), and had an awesome time. It was my first time fishing/floating Baptist to Cedar. I did notice that there were quite a few small browns (I just read that they were recently stocked on another thread). Overall the fishing was okay throughout the trip. Best fish of the trip IMO was the 17" brown my friend caught with his spinning gear. I so wish I could have hooked up with that with my fly rod. My best friend doesn't appreciate trout like I do. He's all for the smallies, but to each their own! We were a little dissappointed in the smallmouth fishing. They didn't seem as active as we are used to. This also was our first time floating in June. We usually float in mid July. So, maybe that had to be part of the issue. One of the coolest parts of the trip was a Bald Eagle that flew towards us and perched itself in a tree on the shore. It was so close to us, and then we got to see it take off up river. I wrote a little more on my blogwww.thebarblessangler.com Here's a video I made of short clips and still shots from the trip. All fish were caught and happily released! Enjoy! www.thebarblessangler.com
Gavin Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Great report. Don't be disappointed. Baptist to Akers is usually the best fishing on that stretch...Akers to Pulltite..Great float, but lousy fishing. I don't even bring a rod for that float anymore, the fishing picks up a bit below Pulltite, but it doesn't get good until you get below Round spring.
ColdWaterFshr Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Enjoyed watching that, thank you. Looks like a good trip.
ozark trout fisher Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Awesome video. Nothing like spending a couple days on the Current.
Members Born to Fish Posted June 29, 2013 Members Posted June 29, 2013 Enjoyed the video!! Out of curiosity, what video software do you use? I'm just starting with my GoPro and I'm looking for the best editing software that a dummy like me can use. Thanks!

In the previous years we have done well in all sections. Maybe we were just lucky. Enjoyed the video!! Out of curiosity, what video software do you use? I used iMovie on my iPad 2 to edit this video. I am in need of a computer upgrade, because, I want to be able to use some other editing software. iMovie is simple and is good enough for me in the meantime...but I know I will be wanting to do more in the near future. I really liked the music selections. Who was it? First song is from Django Unchined soundtrack - Brother Dege (AKA Dege Legg) - Too Old to Die Young Second Song is the theme song to Sons of Anarchy (Television show) - Curtis Stigers & The Forest Rangers - This Life www.thebarblessangler.com
