Not much for me today, got 3 nice K's off my favorite point early on the Ol Monster, picked up a lone top water fish and then things got tough. Fished almost until noon and caught just 4 more bass and none of them looked to be over 12". Could not get them to bite the OI Monster that they loved so much last Thursday. Nothing on the drop shot, couple of bites on a jig, the only thing that "worked" for me was a Zoom Trick worm.

Had a guy pull up to me and he said he got over 20 on a bank on the watermelon worm, he pointed out the bank to me, but I did not fish it, figuring if he caught that many there, he'd probably sore lipped them all.

Water temp 79-80. Lots of ski boats.

Quite a few bass fishers out there also.

Bluegill are biting, they liked the Ol Monster.

I think I'm done with the Rock until after this holiday weekend.

Sorry to hear it, Quillback. Thank you for the report. Are you going elsewhere or giving all the area fish a rest?

Boy, bluegill on the Ol' Monster, huh? I bet those were some good keepers. Did you slip any into the well? I love getting into a nice school of them. I was actually hoping to find some this weekend.

Have a great holiday weekend!

I didn't catch any bluegills, they were just nipping at the tail. But days like this make me think about buying some red worms and seeing if I can get some big gills.

I might do a little fishing in the Bella Vista lakes later this week.

And I hope you and yours also have a great holiday weekend!

Also I hope all OA members have a great holiday weekend (and a safe one too).

Just looking at the generation table and it looks like they stopped generating for a while early in the AM. Maybe that had an effect on the White river channel fish this morning? There was almost constant generation, of varying intensity, for several days until this morning.

That can sure shut them off, QB.

I got lucky and had a few on a new pattern, but most of the guides are reporting it was a really tough day. Will fill you in on this if it was just not an accident. Topwater fish have pretty much for most of it called it quits. Shad seemed to have moved down much deeper and that is preventing the fish from pushing them up.

I will tell you there is quite abit of very shallow action, with the bushes still in the water, in and behind them.

Good Luck and have a great weekend. I'm fishing out of Baxter tomorrow, but taking Thursday the 4th. off for family time.

Have a great holiday

Bill, we look forward to hearing about your new pattern if it pans out.

Thanks for the report Quill, and I wish everyone a very good Independence Day Holiday! Stay safe if you go out on the lake.
