J-Doc Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 A nice small mouth as well from the same trip last weekend. And another LM about 3lbs (OK......this one was in a brush pile up shallow....I confess) (Disclaimer) All fish shown were gently released and healthy to be caught at a later date. Even ole' bloody mouth shown above. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. nathanhooper Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I don't see any eyes or stripes in there... I could see the advantage of group trolling. I guess when I limit myself on where I fish I limit the area to troll. Over there by the dam there is not much area that more than two guys would cover 10-50 of water. There is one flat(ish) area on around going toward Starkey I had thought of visiting. Maybe I will venture forth tomorrow.
Stump bumper Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Everyone talks about pressured fish but just like Bill just said on the Table Rock forum those fish down 26-40 feet over 80-100 feet of water see very little pressure. You see a lot of boats off shore on Table Rock fishing vertically but very few on Beaver, hope it stays that way. I am heading to the Rock tomorrow, hope to get out early enough to miss the wake boarders and big boats to spoon up some bass around Shell Knob. Seems funny that I have found the walleye shallower on Beaver lately then the bass... I was out with Inova the other night fishing over lights and we had lots of walleye coming to the lights and only one crappie. The walleye were mostly 16-17 inches though. Is anyone trolling at night for eyes? Seems to me that are are biting really good between midnight and 3am.

I haven't trolled at night yet but that sure sounds like a possibility. Well......middle of night anyway. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. npierceuark Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I got out the night of July 3rd and set some jugs and found a nice tree ridden bank back in Coose to fish with the lights. Set up in 25 FOW near the channel ledge and tied up between two trees. Ended with a great mixed bag of fillets, handful of whites, 6 crappie (12"ers) and two nice walleye (24"ers). All on minnows just off the bottom. Had one heck of bait ball at about 10pm and it continued to grow as the night went on. No cats on the jugs unfortunately. Great evening to get out.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 I have trolled a few times at night and it can be productive but its hard to find anyone that wants to go for a late night run. It is difficult by yourself to man the rods and keep control of the boat at night. I have found it to be a much shallower approach than day fishing with water depths of 6 to 10 fow as average fishing long points. I haven't done the light fishing in a long time but its always on the list and I KNOW its productive. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

There's some good summer cattin' in Coose, but it's way to the back. When you run out of 25' water, you're starting to get there. In particular, there are 3 what I call gravel washes, 2 on the east bank, one west, where the visible bank shows a cut, but the gravel/soil that used to be in the cut is washed out in a fan-shaped flat pile underwater. Sometimes they're up on top in 3-5', but more often they're up against the break where the wash drops to the bottom (from about 8 to 16'. (Those breaks pile up nightime November stripers too). Daytime finds the kitties moving out to the barely noticeable creek channel, or the first two hard creek bends (short visible bluffs on the bank), with the snaggy break on the second being the best (drops from 15 to 30'). Fresh cut shad is the ticket. I can't dance like I used to.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 This thread has caused evil things to go on tonight grrrrr https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
J-Doc Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 This thread has caused evil things to go on tonight grrrrr I wouldn't say night fishing with me is exactly "evil"......... Torturous maybe....exhausting, possibly. Never evil! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Get you some rod holders for that new swamp boat!! LOL! I'm surprised you didn't have one between your toes or in your teeth! (haha) I know.....all in due time.
