You know Al I agree with you this is trivial, but maybe that is the real problem in it. I seriously doubt that the state of Washington is so well off they have no problems facing their citizens and have the time to regulate their terminology.

It's not a whole lot different than watching Washington DC spend fruitless hours collecting unearned dividends while they put off making serious decisions hoping eventually they will get their way and a reelection plug.

People you are not NEVER NEVER going to replace state and locale sales taxes with federal taxes. They have states rughts abd among them is the power to tax. To even think that the federal government would dare to suspend state and locale taxes is totally absurd. Research The question. Myself I am about done with this forum I did not come on here for this kind of crap.

Angler. It's shorter and has an honorable history. A fisher is either a mammal or a bird, although I will concede reasonable usage of flyfisher if appropriate. If quoting someone, it stays fisherman. Don't obsess over trivialities.

Sorry F&F I have to question those numbers to have that amount of sales tax in AR you have to spend a lot of money on retail sales. Because you don't pay sales tax on non retail sales, at least we didn't when I lived there and at even >08% sales tax rounding off you would have to spend somewhere near $175,000 on retail sales that would be pretty difficult unless you were buying high end autos or boats without any trade in of last years expensive autos or boats.

I always seem to find myself wondering where everyone went? I thought this was about a legislative bunch of morons elected in Washington state that thought their constituents were so dumb they need guidance in terminology that they had use since they learned to speak. That these elected official thought themselves so superior that they needed to ignore more pressing problems to aid the citizenry in there daily dialect.

It's these kind of "Superior beings" that slow humanity down and contrary to common belief they don't all follow one political thought.

There is no two political thoughts actually, there are just two offered.

It seems that any discussion of changing anything the government does (Social Security, Medicare, the tax system) causes an uproar with voters, and we re-elect politicians that can't make changes or even talk about making changes because they'll get crucified at the polls. So we continue to muddle along with an incredibly messed up taxation system and dysfunctional government. Politicians get the blame, and they certainly deserve some of it, but voters are just as responsible for what we've got for a government.

Let me tell you something about the evil rich and class warfare Brian. You may not be old enough to remember the song made famous by Tennessee Earnie Ford. It was about mining coal and never getting out of debt to the company store. It was true it was not just a story. My father like all his brothers went down into the mines at the ripe old age of 6. He never got a darn penny in wages. They lived far out in IL and there was not Wally World are anything else around to go shop in. You had to buy what you needed and rent your living quarters from the coal Co. They over charged for everything. When John L Lewis came along the coal companies did not deal with it in a civilized manner. They brought in thugs ,baseball bats , guns and used them all. When someone would start talking about working conditions and he would not be there the next day. They would tell people he quit and left the night before. When that came up ,my uncle used to say that the grain fields of southern IL grew on the bones of miners. It was a exaggeration I'm sure but I am sure it happened as well. Then there was my mother she worked as a seamstress in St. Louis.they used to lock them in the shops in the morning and leave them out one time a day for a very short time. The rooms were crowded and either had no windows are else they were not allowed to open in the summer. Women would pass out in those darn places and the management would blame them and fire the for it. You will have to kill me before you will ever get me to accept that again.

I do not have anything against a person wealth. I live in a area full of wealthy people. My neighbor is a millionaire several times over. We are good friends. but I am nowhere close to being anything that can be called wealth. I saved all my working life to wind up living on this lake. If a wealthy person has EARNED his wealth thru hard work and honesty he is be admired. But if he cheat people, uses them are causes hardships to other for his own personal gain he is no better than the person who sticks up a service station with a gun. In both cases they cause damage to our society. I am not sure what one deserves the longest prison time.

Old. Plug- you will be offended by what I am saying- but I feel it is more than likely true-

1) First you seem super considerate and friendly- I wish I had that- you can't fake that, -- as I rule I find most folks to be takers and users- and all. "Fake racist BS" post I make to try to flush peoples BS out the truth is I AM prejudiced- (in this way).. I assume most folks want to get over on me, use me, take, lie, steal from me... Because it has been a large part of my human experience, you don't seem to fit that profile, so allow me to hold my hat in my hand as I attempt to get you to consider this..

2). You -CAN'T LEGISLATE FAIRNESS-, I don't know how I can add to that with words

3) (here is where. You will get pissed- take a breath and consider if what I. Am saying is possible..

3a) what does your illustration have to do. With -MOST- wealthy folks?

3b). You never really came full circle- -what is your point?-

3c) (just relax and digest this...) - you gave an illustration of both your Ma and Pa. Working in horrible conditions. With very specific examples of. Wrong. Doing... (Just be. Open-minded).. Have you considered that the. Stories you were told were a) spiced up to make the story more interesting- B) or that they were completely made up?

I don't want. To be exceedingly rude- they just seem kinda over the top- and --

Even if they were 100% accurate, again... WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

How would your illustrations justify. Your besmirching the wealthy. Today?....
