Members sitting fishing Posted July 9, 2013 Members Posted July 9, 2013 abuddy and I use to do extremely well bassing at the catfish lakes
Guest Brian B. Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I used to do pretty good for the extreme public water thatit is- at lake #16, on a white zoom super fluke- that was before my senko apprenticeship, I'm sure the senko would outperform the fluke now- a days.
Smallie Seeker Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I do pretty good at BWL. First photo was from today.
Greasy B Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Nice fish, way better than anything I have ever caught at Busch. I always suspected 38 had some good bass. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Members boxj24 Posted May 19, 2014 Members Posted May 19, 2014 Went out and fished Saturday, May 17 with 3 friends. Caught around 15 bass total. Nothin over 1 lb. Senkos and flukes were used. Fished lake 33 first thing. Only 1 fish. Caught most at 35 and a couple after lunch on 34. Lake 33 was muddy.
mjk86 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 There are def some nice ones there. I had a good last two weeks with the crappie and stocked the freezer, so went out saturday with all my bass gear hoping to find some nice ones...my brother and I fished 35 from 530am-10 caught about 20-30 fish a piece..ALL DINKS....used to be that about 1 in 20 fish on 35 was a nice 4-5lb fish. I have yet to catch one over 15inches this year though. Maybe 35 is having a bad year or something....next week I may try 33 for some bigger bass...I rarely if ever fish that lake, but according to the MDC website, they surveyed like 60% of bass bigger than 15"
Members Gutpile Posted May 19, 2014 Members Posted May 19, 2014 I fished 33 one time so far. Caught a couple in the 12-14" range, one in the 10" range, and one that was 16"+ that found a weakspot in my line. I plan on hit the 3x lakes a lot this spring/summer. Lots of shorts in lake #10 so far.
stlfisher Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 check out the MDC website if your looking for information on "big bass" lakes at Busch. From experience it is pretty accurate. I have fished every lake at Busch and I have got some nice fish, but the bigger ones are educated. Now days I take my fly rod mostly and have fun with the dinks all day long....catch some really nice Bluegill as well.
WHARFRAT Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 A few years back, I witnessed a nice lunker taken out of lake 3 or 4. While all of us were catfishing, this guy was casting topwater, and caught the fish. @lozcrappie
