Quillback Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Launched at daylight, picked up a few early on the Ol' Monster, tried some drop shotting, didn't have quite the bite I had yesterday, but picked up 10 or so spots on the DS using a Finesse worm. Got a tip last week that some bass could be caught fishing the steep chunk rock banks with a Trick worm, so spent the latter part of the morning throwing a Watermelon t-rigged Trick worm on the steep banks, caught another 10 or so doing that, mostly LM's, nothing big, biggest being around 2 lbs. Water temp 84 when I left at noon. Worst part of fishing those main channel steep chunk banks is the constant wakes kicked out by the boat parade. Throw in a stiff wind and it's a lot of fun.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Yup the enguage ( Ludicris Speed ) so put on your Helmet and Vacum the fish up early https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Quillback Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 Yep, early is good. I did venture up the Kings a bit early, around 7 AM, where the Kings meets the White, already at 7 AM there were a couple of wake boats going in circles. I was going to do a little drop shotting in that area, but decided it was too early in the morning to put up with the washing machine spin cycle treatmemt.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 You would have had to have Valium with you had you. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

So you are one of the ones i see out there from the deck. We should do a "get to know" type thread with pictures of our boats.
Pepe Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Quillback, thanks for the regular reports. That camp at point 22 runs those boats and they stay pretty close to camp so it is a mess around there when they are out. Our place is right across from there on Pinnacle / Ice Box Point. Ironically, they aren't usually out there on weekends.
Quillback Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Danger and Ultralance, you folks live in a good neighborhood. I don't fish that far down lake often, usually stay closer to Big M, but I have had good success at times with the drop shot off Pinnacle Point. I've got a black/silver/gray Phoenix with a 200 Merc on the back, so if you see me, stop by and say hi.
gitnby Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Gotta love a guy who armor alls his boat-trailer tires! But, since I don't see any numbers behind an "AR", maybe you came right from the dealer? Was the porta-potty standard, or did you pay extra to have it mounted on the front deck? Seriously, great-looking rig! Donna looks like a proud Momma with her new baby!
Champ188 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Hey gitnby, we had just gotten home from the dealer with it the day before, thus the ArmorAll on the tires, although not a bad idea for future reference. : Good thing that porta-potty isn't actually IN the boat coz Donna would never catch anything.
