Members sixstring531 Posted July 28, 2013 Members Posted July 28, 2013 We had a little theivery the first time I ever fished Tablerock in April. We stayed at Stillwater and rented a slip. After we came in for the night we locked all boxes and ended up using an external battery charger for the batteries, since the one on the boat was having issus. Thirty minutes after we left the dock (around midnight) their cameras catch a lone male pull up in his car, walk down and get in our boat. He tools around and takes off with the charger. They then checked the other docks and he visited all of them. Stillwater had locked gates on their boat rental dock, but not on the dock they rent slips from. I understand if someone comes in by water, but the dude just walked down and got in our boat. He could just as easily walk up to our boat if it were on the trailer in the parking lot and dug around, though the lights and proximity to the condos may have scared him off. While it ticks me off, no one needs to die for stolen boat equipment. They'll get theirs in the end and I have insurance (if they steal enough anyway). I do think the cameras were effective - they at least caught his car and I assume his license plate.
