jdmidwest Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Looks like you may be treated to a little Bestiality if you go there...... http://rhtrav.com/wordpress/niangua-outfitter-pulls-no-punches-misbehavior-on-rivers-must-be-reversed/#more-14080 Don't go floating over there, all of the farm animals are skeered. fishinwrench Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 This.... 1. Q: What should floaters do to create good relations with private landowners along rivers? A: Stay off of what is clearly marked as “private property”. Go onto private property only in emergency cases in which MedEvac may be indicated. I have found trespassers to be disrespectful of my property by littering, defecating with toilet paper left behind, fornicating on picnic tables in open daylight, and, in some cases, given to violence with the use of some form of weapon. ...is both bulls#!t and unhelpful propaganda. First off, the gravel bars below the high water mark are NOT private property. And I've never once seen any private "picnic tables" on them, so wherever he supposedly saw this fornicating going on was obviously somewhere else....not on a river gravel bar. I never, ever, EVER see floaters leaving the highwater area bushwhacking through the briar thickets to pee, poop, or screw on someones PRIVATE property. Not saying it hasn't happened but c'mon, be fo'real ! I've been to and thru Redbeards area plenty, they don't seem to have a problem with massive piles of horse s#it everywhere on "their" gravel bars.
fishinwrench Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Additional quick question... Is there no law against putting up "Private-Keep Off" signs in areas that aren't ? If not then there should be.
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 What a hypocrite. Johnny come later knew, or should have known, when he bought his place and brought more people to an overcrowded river. I've seen his spiel about being different, but he just added to the problems on the river and is getting what all the others have gotten from the party they created. He attempts to make money from camping and canoeing and now he knows the downside. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

LarrySTL Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 If he had said "most of the problems are caused by people getting drunk which often leads to obnoxious and rowdy" I'd agree. Beyond that yes it feels like a rant and to me feels pretty hypocritical of him. http://intervenehere.com

jdmidwest Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 The part I was kinda erked about was his accusations of other concessionaires dealing drugs. Surely, if it were true, the authorities would nip that in the butt pretty quick. And where the bestiality came from really got a chuckle. All in all, I thought it was a pretty baseless slam on MO riverways. I float them all of the time and never really have the issues most seem to complain about. Sure you see drunks, underage drinking, a boob here and there, and I am sure there are some drug users. But for the most part, people are just out enjoying the river. I am glad to see that most are not even fishing, they are not really hurting that resource that we all love. I do tend to stay away from the major ones during the holidays, so maybe I miss most of the debauchery. I do hate the trash, the crowds, and the noise. But everyone seems to promote the outdoors nowdays and have made it a big cash cow, so I guess we will have to live with it. Jack Jones Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I couldn't help but think it was too exaggerated. Maybe he was looking for publicity. He didn't endear himself to me with that interview. Wayne SW/MO Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I don't know if it was exagerated or not, but I do know he came on the river long after Maggard, Burns and the Robbin's, just name a few and they didn't sesrch people using thir canoes or vet them and neither does he. He also doesn't say for certain that he knows some of the trash isn't from his campers, some of who camp on the river. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
