MTM Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 We have a lot of people moving in out here from California. They find out after a time or two those big SUV's they buy don't stop any better on ice than a normal car does LOL I was watching on TV today and they had some stuff on the storm in Kansas. They had cars and SUV's on there rooofs and in wrecks all of the place. That is why I said take it easy if you have to drive. We are having left over roast chicken to night. I do the cooking so it is good LOL Not bragging here but if you tasted my wifes you would understand LOL She dosen't cook much and her idea of dinner is Mac and Cheese right out of the box. And yes I made the roast chicken. I will post how I cook it on the board. Real easy and it turns out good everytime. Ron Ron
LostMyWife Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I live in a lake community 45 minutes outside of St Louis. There are a lot of very small towns around us. On such town, Midway, has one power station. (We have two). Their main transformer exploded about an hour ago. It lit up the sky with a blue and yellow flame. The town is about 4 miles from here. My son works at the only grocery store we have, and he says there is still a fire over there. The whole town is without power. I hope they have fireplaces. Otherwise it will be a long night. Kansas Fly Fisher Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 The "seaweed" soup is a Portuguese receipe that we got when I was stationed in the Azores. It's actually a mix of olive oil, water, potatoes, spinach, and cabbage blended to a fine mix and then slow cooked. It has a slight green tint and the long strands of spinach looks like seaweed, hence the name. My wife adds chopped polish sausage to give it some meat. It's actually pretty good. ollie Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Man, we had a pippin hot bowl of chili then hit the hill by the house for some inner-tubing! The boys and I had a blast. The stuff out there in Neosho is mainly sleet with a little snow on top = fast. After we got back and thawed out we fixed a nice hot cup of chocolate. Now that's a good evening in this kind of weather I say. Danoinark Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Chilli here too. But it looks like the weatherman was way off here in N. Ark. This thing has wimped out so far. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Quillback Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Got about an inch of ice and sleet with 3 inches of snow on top here in Bella Vista. It's 16 degrees outside right now, and to think it was 73 a couple of days ago. Went from Fall to Winter real fast.
Brian Sloss Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Alton, Mo got 0 inches of snow and no ice to speak of. My friends and family in mid-mo got 17 inches. That being said, the river here is up about 7 ft. according to the computer. Have not had a chance to go witness for myself. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Don Allenbaugh Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 We had over 5 inches (the rain gauge was full) of rain on the river at Gassville and a skif of snow and ice. The White looked like the muddy Mississippi last evening and was up about 3 feet without any generation. A good time to go for big browns. You motor up behind them using a depth finder and reach down and grab them, they never see ya coming. Don A
