I'm taking a road trip to KC tomorrow from STL. I'm thinking about taking Hwy 50 versus I70 and see something besides billboards and straight lines. Probably turn north at Ottersville after checking out Richland creek in the conservation area there. Anything worth stopping and seeing. Anyone ever tried Richland (send me a PM if you rather).

Tight Lines,

I been to the conservation building in Jeff City but that was a longtime ago in spite of the fact that I go to and through there at least 1 time a month on my way to st louis to see grandkids or to visit my daughter in Hermann. Look it up on the internet and there should be something. They got a 800 number you could call also I imagine.

I was at the Runge conservation area/nature center in Jeff City about 3 months ago. I didn't get to hike the trails then for two reasons: (1) it was snowing, and (2) I was dressed for work in a suit/tie. The building itself was very nice. Lots of taxidermy. There's a nature library there. I'd give it an hour of my time..

If you're in Jefferson City around lunchtime, I'd go to Zesto. It's on Jefferson Street which is basically the North outer road of Hwy 54 close to the Ellis Boulevard exit. Order a polish sausage with sauerkraut, swiss cheese and hot mustard with a side of baked beans.

You can thank me later.

Thanks all. I've never had a year like this where life keeps getting in the way. Didn't get to fish and took i70. Best I got was stopping a bass pro in Columbia.
