Master Plan Revision

Is anyone following this process closely? It sounds like they have formulated a plan that might or might not be favorable, depends on how you look at it. For property owners that are able to "mow" to the water it will be much more restrictive in that you will have to leave a "buffer" zone of 50ft from the water. It also reduces the amount of "Low density recreation" (whatever that means). This language comes from their preferred plan of action. There are other alternatives but I'm not familiar with the Corps decision making process and wonder if they are just going to approve this without really looking into the other alternatives. I have read through most of the materials and can't find who makes the final decision. The only thing they are worried about is commission off sales of property not the lake or natural beauty of the Ozarks and the lakes. Personaly I would prefer to see less docks. Add a few more Marinas and that is where people can store thier boats if they have to have them on the lake. I dont care how unpopular that might be but im seeing more and more Dock Owners screaming at lake users.

You are 110% right, there are docks on this lake with empty stalls why do there need to be more.....These dock owners think that being their dock sits on the water they own the water around and under the dock and plaster no trespassing signs all over their dock and become belligerent if you fish around their dock. I'll guarantee that if I am caught on the lake in a bad storm I'll use an empty stall to get out of the storm if necessary. There are some dock owners who are alright and there are some that are just a@#holes. I do not want Tablerocks shoreline to be covered with docks like OZ and I'm sure that most of the fishermen don't either... I live on the lake and don't have a stall in a dock and I do not and will not want a dock. I do not want to unload everything out of my boat every time I park in a dock besides it is just easier to load up on the trailer and park it in the garage. These dock (stall owners) complain about thieves and all I can say is that if you place a $1.00 to thousands of dollars of equipment locked or unlocked out in the open someone will take it if it lays there long enough including lower units and etc.

That's unfortunate about some dock owners, I am one and welcome people to fish ours. And if its raining storming or whatever pop into my open slip, I might hit you up for some fishing tips though! In fact, I have met more nice people that way over the years than I can recall!! Some people just need to relax :)

I agree with F & F and you my friend are a rare breed. It's not unheard of for private docks to carry a "No fishing within 50 feet" sign. They can't enforce them, but they seem to feel that they are up there with the commercial docks.

I for one feel that many docks interfere with the public's access, not all, but many do. I also agree with the 50' setback as a buffer from what ever the home owner might apply to the yard. If I lived on the lake I would want some tick defense, just as I do where I live. The setback would absorb most of the runoff.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

over the years, there has been more good fishing holes ruined on table rock lake because of putting in a dock. not too long back a new dock was installed in big indian, and there were over 300 trees taken out. it is getting to the point that throwing a crank bait or spinner bait down a bank is not possible because they are cover up with docks. dock owners do not want you making a ripple around their dock. but, on the flip side, the ones that have the great big boats, do not think a think about their 6' swell from their boat washing in over the side of your boat while trying to fish. if the law was applied as it should be, you are responsible for your wake. even the wake off of the water patrol boats will come over the side of a 19' bass boat. that is just totally uncalled for when the water patrol are a safety hazard. there are bodies of water that are wide enough to accomodate larger vessels, but the narrow margins of table rock is not one of them. somewhere we need to use some common sense. it would be fine with me to have nothing but marinas in a few selected areas. what is wrong with keeping your boat at home, and bring it with you?? i have for years.

Unfortunately I cant go to the meetings with work But if anyone can go and voice their wishes to keep the lakes looking natural and less docks PLEASE DO! Voice your thoughts on the dock owners attitudes and the loss of beauty etc.

The buffer is a great idea IMO TR is such a pbeautiful treasure it would be a shame to see it become littered with docks and litter is the perfect word. Dive under a dock and you will see it fits perfectly.

That may be a very good argument, if a person had photos of several docks they dived under.
