slider Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I fished Thursday evening from dark until midnight and had 1 white 1 channel cat and a limit of crappie. Was kinda surprised at no more whites. DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
Bittle Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Good to know slider. I was thinking about making the trip myself. Were you fishing after dark? Were they running any water?
Old plug Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I am guessing you were way up by truman dam. I have a lot of concern about the white bass fishing here on LOZ In some areas like the gravois there there hs been a steady decline. I amalmost certain in some ways it is connected to large boats.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I ws wondering if they were running any water also? Were you still fishing? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
trythisonemv Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Speaking of truman dam anyone know a good method for stripers up there been twice only to catch small whites, crappie, and cats
rumrunner Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 back when i used to go we always used big jigheads with sassy shad bodies.i think you can still get the sassy shads at the dam tackle store.we caught everything on them.there are alot of different plastic bodies sold now that would work.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Speaking of truman dam anyone know a good method for stripers up there been twice only to catch small whites, crappie, and cats Our best luck has always been on top, but conditions have to be right. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Dutch Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Speaking of truman dam anyone know a good method for stripers up there been twice only to catch small whites, crappie, and cats Are there still stripers on Truman? I have only caught whites and hybrids. For the big hybrids the Zara Spook in July and August around the old airport have been pretty good to me.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I assumed he meant wipers. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
shaker Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I don't think that MDC stocks stripers in Truman anymore, Dang-it! when the lake was new I think that they tried stripers but they didn't do well in Truman and now it's Hybrids which ain't bad a close second in my book. I just wish that they would put more hybrids in the lake seems like the numbers are down somewhat, maybe just me? RB
