mic
So I took some of my new homemade spinners out to Carlyle spillway. I had visions of catching a crappie, white bass, or if I was lucky a big ol drum. Instead I caught this. I figured I foul hooked him, but... my inlines are pretty snagless, barbless, and it was a perfect upper lip hook up. Anyone tell me what type of carp this is. I assume it is an Asian but don't really know. Tight Lines, MIC
moguy1973
Yep, that's one of those Silver Asian carp... -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
MOsmallies
Yep... Asian. The spillway is choked full of em. Hope you slit it's gills and left it for the turtles. Pretty cool you caught it on a homemade inline spinner though. You catch anything else? Or only the carp?
mic
Only the carp. No I didn't have a knife on me.

Haris122
I got one a few months back on a Crankbait of all things on Butler Lake near the Meramec. At the time I thought it somehow got perfectly snagged on the mouth so it looked like it actually went for it, but now that I've seen this, I'm thinking it was a legit catch. Wayne SW/MO
Or eat them, they are delicious. Have you cleaned one.? I've heard that they aren't bony like the commons are, but I've never put a knife to one. I wonder how long it will be before they reach Flippen? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
