Looking To Buy A New Deep V Aluminum Boat - Opinions Needed

I looked into the Crestliner boats. Those are pretty nice! Clean, simple, large front decks, lots of options. Looked like a good platform. Features of a Lund but without the price. Well.........a little better price anyway. I agree the Lunds look to be the top of the line as far as deep V aluminum boats.

I just find it hard to process how someone can affectively and comfortably fish for bass out of the front of a deep v. I know it's possible but it would take some getting use to if you're short like me and like to flip jigs. LOL!

Definately something I'm going to look into seriously before buying a new boat. A deep v is a good option. Best of all worlds for a family boat and the serious angler.

Deep V's are specialty boats. If your preferred fishing method is pitchin' shallow cover then the only time you'll appreciate the qualities of a deep V boat is when your crossing open water between fishing spots. The rest of the time it will be a hindrance.

They truly excell when trolling and/or fishing offshore mainlake structure, drift fishing, or for just riding around sightseeing.

I agree. I even considered building a small flipping deck to put on top of the front deck so I could be up higher. I rarely fish shallow in less than 5-6ft of water (boat depth, not bait depth) so I would not worry about the boats depth in water too much.

If the wife is out of this "family boat" business by the time I can buy one, I'll be getting a bass boat. Its my preferred option. If the kids are that into fisbi g however, I wouldn't think twice about looking at a Crestliner.
