Feathers and Fins
Quill, any SEC team should beat any SEC team, but on any given Saturday weird things happen I mean just look at the Notre Dame fans last year they thought they actually could win against Bama. Just goes to show how crazy people are. We in the SEC know the only way to beat an SEC team in the Championship is to Play two SEC teams against each other. Until we get SEC match-ups going this should just be preseason follies to get the rust off. Oh well, Should be interesting to see the playoffs next year. I cant wait for the crying from all the other conferences when they all start having to play and loose to SEC teams and all the claims how they can beat them for years will be shut up. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Wayne SW/MO
Rivalries are built by fans, not conference affiliation. and are usually between schools that are close. Missouri's big rivalry was KU and it worked because they played each other every year, both states had alumni close. OU has a big rivalry with TU because they play each other every year on what is billed as a neutral site, because they are both close to their fans and the game has always been important. When OU and NU played every year and were both contenders it was a big rivalry, but when NU fell off for awhile the game lost its luster. AR had a big rivalry with A&M when they were perennial second place finishers in the conference, which made the game important every year. There were stretches though, when AR was competitive, when TU was the main attraction for the Razorbacks. AR left the conference though because it wasn't competitive and started its demise. I'm sure MU will probably build a semi rivalry, but it will never match the one with KU because the elements just won't be there. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman. Guest
Texas is the reason that SWC failed, it wasnt Arkansas leaving. Come on, dont give us that much credit! LOL But your right, Texas A&M should be our end of the season rival, but they sucked up to the Cajuns already. I hope they have fun watching all the male cheerleader Aggies swinging their towels around. (super douche)
Wayne SW/MO
Texas is the reason that SWC failed, it wasnt Arkansas leaving. Come on, dont give us that much credit! LOL I was simply saying that Arkansas had trouble besting Texas, but they did the best job of any of the teams. The problem was if you didn't win that conference you generally didn't have any wins in your column that would take you anywhere. Arkansas knew that to have quality wins you have to play some quality teams. The Big 8 at the time always had 3 or 4 good teams, but the SW seldom had more then 2 and AR was often one of them. AR should have been a little more tolerant in how a coach lives his private life. He is after all coaching men, not kids. The fans will determine any rivalry and they will do that when they fill the opponents stands year after year. I can tell you for a fact that half of OU's season is played in TX against TU. They have to win that one to have a successful season, irregardless of the won lost record before and after.. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman. stlfisher
Yeah....mizzou should kill them...but that is kind of my point...the trap games are the ones no one talks about...toledo and indiania are not trap games IMO toledo has beat good teams and most MU fans keep talking about toledo as a trap game..therefore they should be aware if it. No one mentions ark state that is the game that could sneak up on a 3-0 team thinking about georgia the following week.

Mizzou will be fine, Auburn on the other hand should be worried about Ark St. this weekend.
Wayne SW/MO
Are you implying that Ark shouldnt have fired Bobby Petrino? I'm under the impression that no money was involved and if that's true and it's was about morals, then yes, I don't think they should have fired him, Punished yes, fire no. They, AU, have an obligation, IMO, to give the athletes a chance to excel because that is what they promised when they came to the university. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman. Flysmallie
Nope, Patrino being fired was correct. You act like a dumbass you lose your job. That could have put the university in a very bad position with all kinds of legal problems. Some things are more important than winning a football game.
