mic Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 So, I've been perfecting my inlines. I had two black and yellow rubber skirts made in Highland IL. I put the first one on a small inline with a gun metal blade. I trimmed the top almost to the band. Then put on a small hook and trimmed the bottom to just below it. The skirt flared out, and I was a little worried. So I took it out to my local pond to see how it casted and swam through the water. It was awesome. The rubber was pushed back by the water and would pulse everytime the lure slowed... looked very alive. I hadn't planned on staying long, but the bass loved it, and started hammering it. I want to use a slightly bigger blade, but this one is going on the must have list for sure. I want to know how it will work on small mouth in the Ozarks. Can't wait to try. I'm going to make some in other colors, but black and yellow and black and blue should be awesome. The second one is the same layout but bigger. I didn't move in the water quite as well, but it did catch bass, and will go in the box for sure.
fishinwrench Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 You're putting out some quality stuff there. Are you throwing them on fly gear or light spinning gear?
Mitch f Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 They look great! Did you ever think about titanium wire? The problem with regular wire is once a big fish bends it, it will never spin right again. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Buzz Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Those look like they will catch a few Ozark brownies. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
mic Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 You're putting out some quality stuff there. Are you throwing them on fly gear or light spinning gear? Light and medium spinning gear. I've ordered a tool so I can make my own skirts. I hope to share and trade with OAF regulars once I get all the bulk material.

More than likely, it would be just as easy to clip an end off and bend a new one.

Wayne SW/MO Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 If you haven't checked out Barlows for material, you should. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
