Wayne SW/MO Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I wasn't unsatisfied Ham, but I did worry about the OL. They were having problems from the first snap and Dallas jumped on it. They did regroup later either from better play calling of the line getting stiffer. Anytime a 2 win team from last year beats the Cowboy's in their second game of the season it's noticeable, especially coming from behind. Coming from behind was noteworthy to me. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
ness Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I agree Wayne, the line is a worry. Charles was stuffed way too much and Smith was hurried too much too. Got a FG blocked. Bowe sat down rather than get hit. He freaking sat down. Wasted timeouts, stupid penalties. We had a lot of favorable calls, bounces, etc. Lot's of positives, lots of negatives but a win is a win. John
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Bowe sat down rather than get hit. He freaking sat down. I thought that too, but on the replay I thought I saw his foot slip and that possibly he was trying to brake and change direction, I hope I'm right. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Lancer09 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Brandon Albert getting hurt did not help the O-line, hopefully it's not serious. He came back in later in the game after it showed him ripping the O a new one. I don't know how much he came back for but he was back in the game. Last report I heard was a separated shoulder which would have been why he couldn't lift his arm above his head. I thought that too, but on the replay I thought I saw his foot slip and that possibly he was trying to brake and change direction, I hope I'm right. I thought He slipped as well. He seemed to fall as he wanted to turn upfield. I agree Wayne, the line is a worry. I don't know what calls you saw going our way but the refs seemed to be trying to help Dallas pull through. The usual holds on Hali. The D Holding call on Berry at the end of the game was a joke that nullified his pick. The PI on Dez was maybe questionable but whenever the receiver gets both hands on the shoulder pads of a Dback it is going to get called. I also think he got away with pulling Flowers down on his first catch any way so it worked out a bit. The announcers couldn't even get it right. Dontario? Really? They called Kendrick Lewis Eric Berry more than once. They had no idea most of our Defenses name and just resorted to calling them the "KC Defenders" They won't get any love being a small market team and that's cool but if your going to announce on National TV, at least get the players names right, you owe them that much.
Leonard Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 penalties, delay of game, missed protections, clean it up and we might really have a team! I'll take the win. Talking about the Cowboy's again..... Thought you were a Chiefs fan... 1 more game and that should make a "better than last" season for them.... hehehe I think (as much as I hate to say it).... Denver may be the team to watch in this division..... http://www.taneycomonights.com
ozark trout fisher Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Barring some disaster....... Denver should run away with the division. As long as Manning is healthy they are the best team in football and it's not close at all. I am biased but objectively I think that is true. Seattle is the only other team with any claim but they struggled to beat Carolina just last week while Denver has rolled over a couple of very good opponents including the defending champs. (Assuming we're there of course) I worry about the playoffs and if we will be able to turn it around then. But barring injury I'm looking forward to another fun regular season. With that said, the division is not pushover this year. KC should be expected to win 9-10 games and I wouldn't be surprised if San Diego was in the wild card race too. Phillip Rivers looks so good this season and they are going to be a handful if they can stop anyone at all. Oakland was able to beat Jacksonville but they are not really a concern. They may get 5-7 wins instead of the expected 1-4 wins but they do not look like they are ready to do more.
Flysmallie Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Phillip Rivers looks so good this season Maybe in that game yesterday, but in the first game he looked like the total idiot that he has always been. Not that the Chiefs shouldn't be worried about them. Rivers could be a great quarterback, if he didn't have such a tendency to blow it from time to time.
ozark trout fisher Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Even in week 1 he played great for three quarters and it's (in my opinion) a mistake to draw too much off of a bad quarter against an elite defense. They straight outscored Philly on the road and that is not to be taken lightly. Their defense does not look strong though so that may end up costing them a run at the playoffs. We'll see.
Flysmallie Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 it's (in my opinion) a mistake to draw too much off of a bad quarter against an elite defense. But he does it every year. Sometimes he looks unstoppable and others he looks like a complete doofus.
ness Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Lancer You got me on the calls. To me Bowe looked like he just quit instead of hustling back to his feet John
