jolicious Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Was talking to a buddy over the weekend, and he said that Long Creek has been responsible for most of the fish in the Oakley Big Bass events. Anybody know it that's correct?

Anybody know it that's correct? Pretty sure that is correct but I think it has more to do with the proximity of Long Creek to weigh in being so much closer than say if you wanted to fish the Kings, James or up the White.
Sprint21fter Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I know the first year that the tournament was put on the winning fish I believe was caught up the Kings River somewhere. However, a majority of the weigh fish are caught from the bridge up Long Creek and Brushy Creek.
Champ188 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 The guy who won the tournament the first year is a longtime friend named Brady Meredith. We are both originally from Hot Springs, AR. He caught the fish on a buzz bait above Holiday Island in the White River.
Duck Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Champ, we all know there or no fish above Eagle Rock. Duck

Champ188 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Yes, that's almost bound to be the same one but are you sure it wasn't Cutter-Morning Star? Brady and his sister Kerri both attended Cutter and she was actually a better athlete than him. She was an All-State basketball player and champion track athlete, too. Brady's dad is Freddy Meredith who is well known as a tournament fisherman. He won a lot of money on Ouachita, Hamilton and DeGray and fished the pro circuit for a short while in the 1990s. I used to live just inside the front gate of Hot Springs Village, so I know quite a few folks around Jessieville. Heckuva good bunch of people. The football coaches Don Phillips and Don Pierce were a couple of my favorites.
Iclass Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 May have been Cutter.... Been a long time ago. I've known Coach Phillips for a long time too, great coach even better man!
