Last weekend I took a float from the Prongs to 17 bridge. I saw a ton of Drum. Does anyone have any tips on catching them?

Last time I was down there I saw several big drum too. They love crawlers, but just about anything should work. A small crawfish colored crankbait might be good.

Earthworms or crawfish. I catch them on jigs, cranks, jerkbaits, and road runners in BSL. I saw a bunch of them on the Current and they ran like frightened school girls EVERYTIME I tried to throw a Bait anywhere near them. It was very disappointing.

Yeah, we catch them on nightcrawlers at LOZ a lot.

I've caught quite a few of them bass fishing on lakes, but only one on a river. Caught it in October one year on the middle Meramec on a crankbait, on a day when everything was hitting the crankbait--caught two walleye on it as well that day. I don't know why they don't seem to hit lures very often on the rivers. I know guys who fish for them with crawdad tails.

Off topic, but was there enough water up at the Prongs for a decent float? Lots of dragging I suppose?

I have caught a ton of them jigging a spoon for white bass. They are something like catfish in that way. They clean up after the white bass feed

Ditto Old Plug, I've gotten in on that deal as well.

Sure they weren't buffalo's? If they were indeed Drum they will pick up slow moving bottom lures.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
