Thompson Fishing Guide Service Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I put in at Ruark Bluff today 11 am - 3pm and parked my green van with my green nitro trailer in the shade in the overflow lot. When I returned to my boat trailer I noticed a strong gas smell and saw a puddle of gas outside my van fuel tank. In broad daylight, with 20 boats in the parking lot some dirtbags siphoned 1/2 the fuel out of my van and left the gas cap laying on the running board. I sure would like to meet these folks and educate them on the error of their ways. Be vigilant, be on the lookout and let's have each other's backs. redshad Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Sorry to hear that, Marty. I agree we all need to look out for each other. It is getting the time of year that the ramps are not a busy and it is easier for the low-life's strike. On a lighter note... How was the fishing??
denjac Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Ruark bluff was closed today. We just drove around the road block and put in anyway. About 15 others did the same thing. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. minnowhooker Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Marty that sucks They had a barricade blocking half the road before you turn to the Cedar Ridge launch also. I was worried they had the gates locked at the ramp but they were open....... unlike the government so I went fishing.
Members Fishing preacher Posted October 3, 2013 Members Posted October 3, 2013 I am wanting to go fishing tomorrow. Are all the boat ramps closed?
dennis boatman Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Ruark bluff was closed today. We just drove around the road block and put in anyway. About 15 others did the same thing. Did the closing have anything to do with the lack of funding from the Government? Or a seasonal or maintenance closure? Either way, why would you, and 15 others, feel you could just go around the road block and launch your boat? I, personally, would have gone elsewhere.... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
