I wish these reporters would do their homework. The ramp at the Shell Knob bridge is a public ramp that is maintained by Hill and Hill Maintenance and Excavation. The Corps has nothing to do with this ramp. As far as I know it has always been open to the public.

H-HWY ramp isn't maintained by the corp anymore either. A club recieved a grant a few years ago to get the ramp re-paved. The only reason there is a dock there is because of a dock building company just up the road that the owner agreed to maintain the dock because it is easier to get in and out of their dock barges.

So have you launched at H Hwy ramp since the shutdown? I wanted to go down there but didn't want to find it blocked off

there were trucks parked at h hwy friday afternoon, i personally have used big creek, viola, big m, and eagle rock since this shutdown and no one seems to be around anywhere. plus i figure if they really didn't want us using them they would put up gates or drive posts, or put out huge rocks or something besides a little ole plastic sign on only one side of the entrance.

Thanks for the update on H Hwy. I knew it was supposed to be considered okay. But had to ask. Thanks for the input on the other ramps. I had to rebuild my motor and I'm getting ready to run it this weekend. Just checking it out

i would just put in where you wanted to. and you could collect up those sawhorses and plant them for fish cover.

Here is the deal and It is current direct from COE. All the Cor. ramps are closed with the exception of State Park. This includes Sweetwater, Viola, Eagle Rock, Viney, Combs Ferry and Big M. Of course we all know the others. The ramp at Big Creek is a Forest Service Ramp and it is also closed. Shell Knob is not a Corp Ramp and it is open along with the Ramp on H-Hwy. Ramps that the do not have metal barriers have had signs and wooden barriers put into place. It is now common knowledge that these ramps on Table Rock are not to be used. If you move the barrier or go around it you will be ticketed. If the barriers are down and you enter the park you can still be ticketed, regardless if it is marked or not. It is common knowledge.

Sorry to be the carrier of bad tidings.

So they have no money to "operate" the ramps ... whatever that means ... but they can still pay rangers to go around and write tickets. I'm presuming since Bill talked to a ranger that they are still working?

If Coe is not operating because of the shut down, are these park rangers working for free? Or a few selected employees still work and get paid?
