Old plug Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I am amzaed at the number of people that will bet the cost of fishing in this tournament. There must be a awful lot of peole running around with a lot of money to blow. Even knowing some specific location of lunker bass is still a big big gamble. But i am sure people will stumble onto them.
Goggle-Eyed Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 LOL, The money versus payout is much better than alot of tournaments with the hourly payouts and such. I am just glad I am sitting in my recliner looking out and watching them instead of fishing in this weather!!! What I wonder is do these guys know more than me? I have watched at least 6-8 boats pull in and fish areas that I have never caught a fish nor seen a fish caught off of, pounding the bank in areas that just don't make since to me. Again, maybe they know something that us locals don't know!!! Joe

Mitch f Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Oh Dude! !!! Can you get that to weigh close to 3/8ox. ?The weight of the plastic alone, or total weight? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
fishinwrench Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Total weight, or maybe even have the hook/lead (less the plastic) weighing that much. It needs to have enough weight+mass to pitch and skip on med.-hvy. gear. I can slow ddown or control the fall with line size and tension. I just know that with similar streamlined baits (tubes and such) that 5/16 is NOT enough, it needs to be about 3/8-7/16 for what I wanna do with it.
Mitch f Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 With a 1/4 oz head, total weight is a little over 3/8 oz with a 3/8 oz head, total weight is a little over 7/16 oz Take scale reading X .0022 to get decimal ounces never tried to skip them, you sure they will skip? Here's the head I recommend: http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1545613 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
fishinwrench Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Yeah It'll skip. If you use the bottom edge of a dock as a line fulcrum you can skip a bowling ball.
fishinwrench Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 You have it molded over a weighted jig hook, right?
