Sprint21fter Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Appreciate it Champ, the competition is a stiff as they come when they are on the lake several days a week and I am doing good to get out on the weekends to try and figure something out.
merc1997 Bo Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 X's 2 on the jig and pig. Hammered them Saturday with the front coming in with 30 plus keepers with several over 3.5 lbs. Mixed bag of largemouth, kentuckies, and Smallies. that was a very good day of fishing. sure wish i could have been there whacking them with you. still recovering from rotator cuff surgery. bo
Champ188 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Sprint, that's exactly what makes that bunch so tough. A fair number of them are retired, others are guides and still others manage to fish a whole lot more than guys like me and you. Donna and I enjoy getting up there and fishing them when we can, and Teri (Snider) Pierce who runs it is as nice as they come. With us, seems like it's always the old day-after-a-cold front deal when we're proud to manage a small limit and half of the field is dragging 20-pound sacks down the dock.
Quillback Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Champ 188, we finished 2nd in the Winter Series. Lost an absolute toad early in the morning that would have put us over the top as well. Caught everything we weighed on a 5/8oz jig alot of the other keepers were caught on a wart inside of mainlake and secondary points. Digging the Warts out of storage.....
Members wayne b Posted October 9, 2013 Members Posted October 9, 2013 glad I bought those warts the other day will give them a try fri or sat
Sprint21fter Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Me and my partner thought that there would have been several upper teens bags plus some 20lb bags but the big girls haven't moved up yet. We have fished a few other big team tournaments since August and big fish has been nothing over 5lbs. We just have been catching solid keepers and covering a boat load of water. It's almost here though.
Champ188 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 It's just that early fall deal ... might patch together a good sack on the right day but you'll probably use 25 gals of gas and 3-4 different baits to do it. That's OK by me. I'm a junk fisherman from way back. Never been smart enough to catch more than a couple out of one spot or on the same bait.
Tfsh4bass Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Good job Sprint...glad you are wacking them. I have only fished Table Rock 3 times the last 6 weeks and have been all over the water column junk fishing each time...catching some and Sunday I had some pretty good ones on a blade.
