mic Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Here is a video for what is described as an old reciepe. I've never heard of it, but it looks fishy. There is also a cool side story during the video. Enjoy, MIC
fishinwrench Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I have. It's a good pattern (size 14-12) to swing through the riffles. And if tied unweighted it does a decent job on top when the big brown and orange caddis are out. Actually though.....any fly that sports peacock herl, palmered hackle, and squirrel hair is just gonna get bit.
Gavin Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Any fly with peacock herl and brown hackle gets bit....rainbows are suckers for peacock & brown. Browns will eat it too..
Geoff Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Orvis picked it up today... http://www.orvis.com/news/fly-fishing/video-how-to-tie-the-picket-pin/ Im also looking into tying some kern bugs, they are neat looking. "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."
Nighthawk Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 heard of it for years. never fished or tied it.
