Here is a video for what is described as an old reciepe. I've never heard of it, but it looks fishy. There is also a cool side story during the video.

I have. It's a good pattern (size 14-12) to swing through the riffles. And if tied unweighted it does a decent job on top when the big brown and orange caddis are out.

Actually though.....any fly that sports peacock herl, palmered hackle, and squirrel hair is just gonna get bit.

Any fly with peacock herl and brown hackle gets bit....rainbows are suckers for peacock & brown. Browns will eat it too..
