if any of you thought before the season that Missouri would be ranked 10th on Halloween, please raise your hand. MM was 10-25 in passing. That is not good, but they still went to 2 OT's. Maybe MM can pull out a win against TN, then Franklin can come back for the stretch. Either way, the future is pretty darn bright for at least a couple more years.

They have exceeded expectations for sure.

I had Mizz at 23rd for this week overall and 4th in SEC behind Bama, ATM, SC and LSU. So second in the SEC East. I knew the Defense was better than most people gave them credit for and they would have good rushing. Also their first 6 teams are not the best. I expected the first loss to be to FL and second to be to SC. I had SC as #1 in the SEC East and # 9 overall BCS and was telling people watch SC as THE coach had been building a team very quietly.

Missouri still hanging out in the top 10 of the BCS at #9. Thought they might fall a little further than than...

Right now the ranking is irrelevant. Sure, staying in the top ten looks good, and I think this is still justified. But it doesn't matter. An at large BCS bowl is unlikely anyway. Our best (only?) chance is to win the SEC and clinch an automatic spot at least in the Sugar Bowl.

So, the only thing that does really matter is finding a way to win the east and play Alabama. A date with the Tide in Atlanta is about as good as a national championship game anyway. I don't care if we are unranked or #4 when if we get to Atlanta, I just want to get there. That's what the rest of the season is about. Got to start by beating Tennessee which won't be easy. We still do control our own destiny. but obviously there is no room for a loss against UT with Ole Miss and A&M still to come. South Carolina may as well start making flight plans to Atlanta if we can't get this one. They only have one marginally tough conference game left against Florida.

If nothing else, 10 wins equals a very successful season with or without a division title. Beat UK and UT and you at least give yourself a chance to do that in the bowl game. Though I still think we knock off at least one of Ole Miss/A&M particularly if Franklin is back.

They probably have lost any chance to play in the big game because there is a good chance that there will be some undefeated teams at the end. If they win out and meet AL they will end up in the top 10, but if they drop 1 or 2 they will likely fall out. There are just too many teams that have passed their rough patches. Ironically the big 12 will likely help them because there are several one loss teams in it, but they have to meet and Baylor has the roughest schedule left according to the stats.

MM didn't look great, Got flustered and ran around in the pocket some. But it wasn't just his fault. Their usually reliable receivers drops some passes that should of been caught. Would of made a difference for keeping drives alive and moving the chains. Then the defense let down in the fourth quarter along with special teams. Not a good game overall but one they still should of won.

Now they just need to win out and they will still play in the SEC championship.

You never, never know. November has a way of sorting through undefeated teams. And really, who would be surprised to see a team like Ohio State or Baylor who have been coasting over terrible competition get tripped up by one of the semi-real teams left on their schedule? FSU and Miami still have to play each other and probably again in the ACC championship game. Oregon could easily lose to Stanford and possibly to Oregon State. It's a long shot, but a lot of one loss teams have looked dead in the water (Alabama last year) before making a run. For Mizzou you just have to go back to 2007 for when we were out of the race and then found ourselves at #1 late in the year. And it's far from impossible that a one loss SEC champ jumps an undefeated Baylor or Ohio State.

So it's unlikely, but you need two losses before you start talking about title hopes being totally over and done with.

Alabama still has two real possible losses, LSU and Auburn. Never count out LSU and the Mad Hatter and Gus is equally as capable and has a point to be made.

Oregon has only one real possibility of a loss and that is to Stanford this weekend

Florida has 2 possible losses Miami and the Gators.

Ohio has the most real possibilities of a no loss season looking over their schedule

Stanford has lost 1 already and still could loose to USC, Though USC has been flighty this year they still could be the second loss

Baylor has a tough 5 games left against some serious opponents any year. Hate to be them.

Miami has the possibility of a 11-1 season but must beat Florida this week to do it. This is the game of the week IMO.

Clemson has 1 loss and has to face the Gamecocks If Conner is healthy they will win if not Clemson wins.

Missouri should win the next two games but Ole Miss and ATM stand in the way and either can beat them.

Now all that Ground Hog forecasting aside I would not be surprised to see OHIO V a Florida team in the BCS NCG. Yup you read that right, because you never know which way the BCS Farts will go... Most likely it will be Bama and the Ducks but the Ohio v Florida would not surprise me.

Mizz is going to a bowl no doubts, But which one is in the air. I wouldn't be shocked to see a BCS bowl be in the tea leafs.

 If only you had something to back that up. Lets see, Missouri played 5-3 Toledo of the Mid America conference and Arkansas state 3-4, Sun Belt conference and of course Murray State. Baylor played 6-2 of the Mid America conference and 4-4 LA- Monroe of the Sun Belt conference and Wofford. So your point that Baylor played a soft schedule in the pre conference is sort of lost in the smoke. The idea that the SEC is all powerful is kind of lost in the smoke also because of their size and bowl record, but they have more chances. They are a strong conference, but it is still hard to judge another conference because a couple of teams lose opening games. Missouri never ran over the Big 12 as I recall. As far as your statement that the ACC was the only other good conference, you would have to burn the woods and sift the ashes to try and prove that theory. If you want to get technical about it, Alabama's championship over LSU never should have happened. Two try's to beat a team and then you're crowned the National champion and played one decent team, although steeped in controversy, outside the conference? Give me a break. best of two or what? Alabama never should have been in that game.
