bfishn Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 ...skies that is. Just like it always rains on the Benton County Fair, the first big fall coldfront often visits us on Show weekend. It's been tradition for me to avoid the meelee by spending the entire weekend on some water. I didn't make it this year. But I do recall some monumental butt-kickings I took I could only blame on the weather. Did it suck as bad today as I recall? (feel free to patronize) On reflection, even my worst trip beat staying at home. :-( I can't dance like I used to.
Quillback Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I was out with fellow OA member Jeb today on Beaver. I would not go as far to say that it sucked, but I would categorize the fishing as tough, which is a step or two above suck. 10 bass between the two of us. However it sure beats going to the craft fair, wild horses couldn't drag me to that show.
Old plug Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Bfishin----- are you a exhibitor or a buyer. We used to exhibit at that at fairs in the St louis area. Our name was Ozarkian Creations/ Birdtown USA . We stopped a couple of years after we moved here. I have birdhouses from California to Germany that I know of I still make a few for locale people and Charity Auctions.
bfishn Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 Sort of. We had a food booth to advertise the Trout Farm back in the '90s at the (old) BV show. Smoked Trout, Fried Catfish. Made a killing with Fried Green Tomatoes the year that movie came out. Would have much rather been getting my butt kicked on Beaver or TR. Thanks for the patronage Quill, it helped. :-) I can't dance like I used to.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Want bad on Beaver yesterday I put 9 blacks on the deck and a pair of stripers ( barely legal sized ) crappie and walleye were not biting and did find the pesky kentucks pushed crappie off my favorite point. Tough day but fish still bit. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
