Couple or three weeks ago when I was there I saw a couple out with a muzzle loader. He said they hadn't seen any, but he had seen some before out there. last year I came across a guy who had gone duck hunting on the lower end and did well. Have seen some rabbit hunter there as well and they did just ok.

A few years ago CD and I were making our way down from the mill. We rounded one bend that had a backwater area. Conservatively at least 100 mallards took flight. It was an awesome event. If you know when to catch it, Capp's is a great place to duck hunt.

Muzzle loaders aren't restricted to Muzzle season.

Yes you can use one in rifle season but not in bow season. Rifle season starts Sat after next.

Didn't even dawn on me that they were out of season. I don't deer hunt. Haven't been in 20+ years. I guess they could have just been scouting out an area.

Actually Wrench, I do know some people that hunt squirrel with a .32 cal muzzle loader. And that very well could have been what they were doing.

I have hunted squirrel with a 32 cal muzzle loader and that might what they were doing and said they didn't see any squirrel's. I do hunt deer with a 50 cal and handguns so am aware of the seasons. Less than two weeks until firearm season.

Im hoping it wont be too crowded during the rifle season. Gonna take my muzzleloader there. Moved to Monett back in August and go to the CA about once a week usually with my year old boy. Caught his first rainbow last week. I saw dove hunters one day, some squirrel hunters one other day. Only seen one bow hunter. Talked to him in the south parking lot one evening.
