Missouri Vs. Tn

This is the time of the season where you hope your team is still in the hunt. Mizzou is certainly still there and accoding to the old adage, "have their fate in their hands". They are in a position to play the number 1 team, before the NC game and it's rare to be there. They could conceivably leap to the game, so to speak.

As far as Mauk goes, anytime you have to bring in a new QB at the start of a season its' huge advantage when he's been pre-tested under fire. Mizzou will get a huge boost next year from his experience this year.

I think we're all hoping they win out, but not really expecting it. It's funny how expectations have climbed with every win, though. I picked them to go 7-5 preseason. After the way they won their four non-con games, I thought they MIGHT go 8-4. But then as they started beating supposedly good to powerhouse SEC teams one after another, I started to actually believe they would win the next game, too.

Now I think that IF Franklin is 100% and they don't limit the playbook to protect him and he doesn't get hurt again, they WILL beat Miss and TAM. If he isn't 100%, things get pretty shaky.

I feel pretty good about the games individually, but the chances of dropping 1 of the 2 seem pretty high. Thing is, if Franklin struggles coming back, worst case scenario we do have Mauk waiting in the wings. I don't think either A&M or Ole Miss has enough defense to slow us down much, unless we slow ourselves down with turnovers or a wave of three and outs. We just need to get a few stops to keep our offense on the field. Both are essentially the same team, with great offenses and inconsistent defense.

The difference is Johnny Football for the Aggies who will make any game very interesting. Missouri does a lot of things better than A&M, but Manziel could easily make up for that and it seems like a total tossup. Missouri will need its best game to get by Ole Miss as well, though. A win in Oxford would be very impressive in its own right and it could set up a season closing game of the ages against A&M. Even if we have two losses and the east race is over that could be a good one.

I wonder what it is like to be an Alabama fan, where you expect your team to win every game, and in most of them win big.

It'd be kinda weird. Every win (short of the championship and maybe the LSU/Auburn games) would just be a shrug of the shoulders and every loss an epic disaster.

Didn't feel real good about our ability to score with TAM but see below .... I think our offense is nearly as good if not as good as theirs with Franklin hittin like he was before the injury(and still close with MM). The defense will probably be the deciding factor and I think we got the edge there.

I feel like we can win both games, but we are going to need to play very well. Our defense is much better than A&M's, but the Manziel factor is huge. We gotta blitz him like crazy...we will get burned for a couple big plays...but he does turn the ball over trying to make the big play.

Not sure about Old Miss. A part of me thinks we lose a close one, but a part of me thinks they are a bit overrated and we win it by 2 scores or more.

It is going to be exciting no matter what. Can't ask for anything more than that...I can't wait

I believe MS is a spoiler and needs to be taken seriously and I'm sure Mizzou will. TA&M is a different animal and one it seems has to be outscored because you can't defend them. Mizzou certainly has the horses to out score them, but just barely. Johnny football is no longer a surprise with his running, but he is an outstanding passer. Games that lean on passing can hinge on one DB's mistake. I think it will come down to Mizzou's DL and how much pressure they can bring to bear because the DB's can't make a big change unless the passes are hurried and off a little. On the otherwise Mizzou needs to play a very clean game and not hurt themselves. Depending on who is guarding him, DGB could be a big factor because he is maturing rapidly. He's got an NFL reach.

I could see the A&M game coming down to whoever has the ball last. I will have to check and see what that over is. It may very well be an epic shootout. If we beat Ole Miss the crowd at Farout field is going to be insane. I agree that MU's D-Line may be the deciding factor. Old Miss is first and that game is not be overlooked (as you stated).

This is why I love college football....so many big games this time of year.

Whatever happens It sure has been exciting.

I don't know why I think GA beats Auburn this weekend, but I think they can...
