I call it the Banty Brim Reaper. Hook - #10 Nymph Hook Thread - Red 6/0 Eyes - Bead Chain Eyes Tail - Rubber Leg furled Body - Yellow chenille Head - Whitlock's Orange SLF Dubbing spun in a dubbing loop. Hook: 14 Caddis curved(original calls for partridge hook) Grizzly Hackle Hares Mask per Hans Weilenmann floatant only on hackle. Abdomen is supposed to pierce film. Pond Fly - Crappie Fly Hook: 8 Thread: white 15 wraps 0.015 lead wire Chartruese Maribou medium tinsel chenille Pearl Flashabou Green/Glow Don't be afraid to pinch off some maribou if they seem to be wanting smaller flies, especially in the early spring. UnderTail: Crystal Flash Butt: Ball of Ice Dub Tail: Rabbit, stuck thru the hook, tied in front of the butt Body: Polar Chenille Legs: 2 pairs of rubber/silly legs, each side. Gills: Barred marabou, palmared Head: Senyo's Laser Dub Eyes: small lead eyes, topped with CCG eyes I really need to post a SBS video of my tying one of these, its not hard but typing it out is lengthy. Lancer09 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 That little foam dragon is an awesome fly Geoff. I'll be filling some boxes up with those for sure. Can't imagine it wouldn't work for bass in some bigger sizes too.
