Quillback Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 They appear to be seriously pursuing hm. Supposedly he turned down their first offer of $52 million/4 years. The guy has some pop in his bat for a SS, but not a lot of range defensively. Seeing how he was involved in that PED scandal last year and got a 50 game suspension, it makes me wonder if his numbers may have been inflated by PED use? It's hard however to not trust Cards management and assume they know what they are doing.
moguy1973 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I wouldn't want him...I'll take Tulowitzki over him any day... -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Quillback Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Yeah I'd take Tulo also. But to get Tulo they'll have to give something up, whereas Peralta is a free agent. Could be a negotiating ploy also, give Peralta a lowball offer and see if it scares the Rockies into easing on what they want for Tulo.
Jerry Rapp Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 they got him it appears, pretty steep price(just $$), but it should solidify the position fo 4 years. Hopefully by then they get a couple of good SS's to develop in the minor leagues.
Quillback Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Can't accuse the Cards of standing pat.
