A buddy and I went to Norfork in the blizzard this morning. Everything seemed like a go. Made it to the ramp fine. Backed the boat down and fired up the engine. Tried to pull the truck up and it was a no go. Spin City. Left if there and went hunting. Only saw two groups of ducks and they came right in. It took an hour to find some one as stupid as us to come help us get out. We couldn't get the truck plus boat and trailer back up the ramp so our duck boat is riding out the blizzard still on the lake. At least it will be ready to go tomorrow.

Yeah, I had the same bright idea this morning for Table Rock. Launched and got out just fine. Just no birds flying. Only shot 2 golden eye. Called it quits by 9:30 a.m.

I did not see one other boat on the lake this morning??????

Did a drive around this afternoon and seen very few ducks on the lake. Hoping this front has short stopped ducks to the north of us and didn't push em further south. Of course a lot of the ponds were still open but Imagine that will change tonight. Didn't see hardly any ducks on trip down to Houston and back this past week so hopefully that's still a good thing ;).

All I can say is some of us waterfowlers are just a bit off :) Small ponds out of the wind are locking up tight around here. We just got a dusting here and there is plenty of food in the fields to keep them happy if they have any open water. Some large bunches of geese will keep a roost pond or two open. I just have to stay away from them and find the feeding fields. I am sure there will be bunches of ducks heading your all's way. Lower single digits tonight with I think Wednesday it might hit freezing for a high. Did a couple of drive bys yesterday at 23 degrees with some pretty good wind. First place took out a couple of gadwall. By the time I got back to the truck ice had formed on there feet and feathers, my fingers were hurting too. Two mallards at another place. Both of them had crops/necks full of corn. Checked out the hot spot we hunted Thanksgiving morning and the following Saturday. Literally a hundred mallards hunkered behind the dam. I left them and told them thanks for the good time. I don't mind to jump a pair of two but wouldn't massacre a flock. I am sure I will loose many birds, here is hoping they go by you guys and even stay awhile. Lower single digits here tonight,

I am sure they will all head out of this side of the state with this one. First day above freezing will be next Friday with 38 degrees. That will lock up all shallow water habitat and pretty well knock it in the head for our season. I doubt we will have many birds left after this one.

Snows were flying this afternoon in the snow storm. I could hear them, pretty low, but washed out in the blizzard. We ended up with a foot.

Had a decent hunt today. The ducks we scouted did not come back. They landed further up the lake back in a creek. Ended up with a mixed bad of mallards, teal, Shoveler and ring neck. Also finally got out boat and trailer back up the ramp. I would go again in the morning. But need to go back to work. Might hit it again Tuesday.

Been itch"n to get out lately, have not seen much here on tablerock when glassing the lake, but then with all the fog and pre-cip lately not to much range of visibility though. so I tried it this afternoon, and saw very few birds. no shots fired! hopefully a bunch will move in tonight! going to try em in the am tomorrow. Hey F&F, sounds like you have a bunch of them just waiting for you down there! shoot em up, and push them back north!
