I found this artificial hip joint wedged in the cobblestones in front of the arch last year. No teflon, ceramic, or titanium here, it's at least 25-30 years old. Lot number too far gone to trace.

found someones retirement watch in the lake...located him and returned it...still running...of course a Timex...it took a licking and kept on ticking...

A strike indicator is just a bobber...

Great story Wayneb.

I suppose the first one that comes to mind was during an elk hunting trip. We were driving a two track through a bald that led to a small canyon that often funneled elk. As we approached an area where I knew 2 cows had been killed the day before a Golden flew out probably no more than 30' in front of the truck. We stopped to watch him and a mature bald and an immature bald flew from the same pile. I had always heard they didn't get along, but I suppose when the buffet is set it doesn't hold true.

I have always heard the same about grey squirrels and fox squirrels. this fall I watched a group of grey's working a hickory tree pretty hard and along came a fox squirrel who joined right in. I did notice that at one point a grey went out of his way to avoid coming too close the fox and later the fox did the same thing.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I'd like to bring this post back to life. Maybe after a year or so some of you guys might have seen some interesting stuff.

I was fishing by myself in a hole all alone at Montauk and some guy walks in and casts over my line.

That's not strange it's just downright rude.

We were hiking the trail from the south rim of the Grand Canyon to Phantom Ranch, loaded with gear and complaining of how difficult it was when 2 young men come down the trail with a wheelbarrow filled with ice and a full size keg. I'm fairly sure the keg and wheelbarrow are still at the bottom of the canyon.
