LittleRedFisherman Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 It's 17 outside, been cooped up other than taking the kids outside to play some today. So got to looking at some videos a while ago on some rivers. Ran onto this one from AETN's Exploring Arkansas. Chuck does several shows a year on different streams in the state, never heard much of War Eagle, but may have to try this one someday, looks beautiful!! Got any that's on your To Float list? There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
ScottK Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Still never been to the Buffalo. Maybe this coming spring!
KCRIVERRAT Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 upper Pomme De Terre Weaubleau Creek Tavern Creek lower Flat Creek Courtois Creek Black River James River Beaver Creek Eleven Point above Greer the drainage ditch in my front yard HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
bfishn Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 The Mississippi All of it (but not in a canoe) I can't dance like I used to.
Quillback Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 It would be cool to float the Yellowstone, then on to the Missouri, retracing the Lewis and Clark expedition. Going downstream. Have the journals in hand and compare what they saw to what it is now. And of course do some fishing.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 All of the Buffalo, done some. Tavern and EP above Greer like Jerry said. Finley Lower Flat, I've paddled up some. Bull 160 to Taney, yeah I know it's in my backyard. All of the Current, only done one stretch St Francis I've been on War Eagle with Ham and while it's worth floating there is a lot of slow water, like the Osage Fork. IMO Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
dennis boatman Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Stanislaus River in CA...this summer... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Greasy B Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Every year I try to fish a couple of new rivers, lately most have been relatively exotic destinations. There are quite a few rivers in the Ozarks that I haven’t floated; most are far enough from home that I can’t do them on a weekend yet not far enough or exotic enough to spend my limited vacation time to float. This next season I probably should try to check off the St Francis and the Black, a couple of close to home rivers that I have fished in the past but never devoted an overnighter to. Maybe revisit the Big and Bourb, two old friends that have drifted from my radar. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
countryred Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 1. Prongs to Alley Spring on the Jacks Fork. 2. Upper Eleven Point. 3. North fork of the White. 4. Upper Big Piney 5. Pulltite to Twin Rivers on the Current.
