Ham Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 You the man! That's great fishing! BSL has been bitch slapping me lately. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Quillback Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 That is an impressive bag for this time of year.
Members brian c Posted December 22, 2013 Members Posted December 22, 2013 What part of the lake were you in with those water temps. Fished a tourny out of bullshoals boat dock sat in the pouring rain. Everywhere we fished was low 50's ...stayed fairly close to the dock all day. Bite was slow for us. Been catching the smallies around point 16 area for the past month had two different tournament sacks in the 12lb range all smallies. Cant seem to figure out the green fish.
Fish24/7 Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 brian, I was in the Pontiac area , Spring creek , and the Theodosia arm. The N. end seems to cool quicker than the S. end by the dam. How deep have you been catching those brownies?
Fish24/7 Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 You the man! That's great fishing! BSL has been bitch slapping me lately. Not just you but the word is fishing has been tough most of the time. My "go to " winter spots have yet to produce a bite, and the baits I typically use are not getting bit. This year I had to find new places and that means burning extra gas which means fewer fishing trips To me Bull is the toughest bass lake i have ever fished, been fishing there over 25 yrs and she still makes me question my abilities from time to time, lol.
Members brian c Posted December 24, 2013 Members Posted December 24, 2013 They were all pretty shallow ....less than 10ft. I think mostly active feeding fish as I had to cover water to get bit. It has slowed way down the last couple trips. I dont get up that way much usually about the state line is as far as I go that way...oakland, music and up to big creek/buck creek primarily where I go.
Ham Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I'm about 6 years in but they've been 6 really strange years with record high water levels and yoyoing water temps in spring. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Fish24/7 Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 thanks brian, Ham, I am really hoping for some "decent" water levels and temps this spring. It's been a while since I've seen a banner crappie year.
Ham Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 IF I'm remembering correctly, 2010 was pretty great. I had to fish thru a bunch of fish, but I got my limit several trips in a row and had fun catching the shorts too. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
