Sore Thumbs Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 There will be a 17lb plus bag turned in im guessing. 17 plus won the last winter series tournament. I was thinking about fishing it too, but might hold on to my money for my Falcon lake trip. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Hojo Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Is there any info online about this tournament?
Quillback Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 The only thing I see out there is this Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/events/161930547282856/

Stump bumper Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Stump, you got your motor fixed? Still need some work on the carbs and new tires, finally have the money but know need the time to get it into the shop.
J-Doc Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Almost that time. Weather is creating quite the upset. COld cold cold next two days. Then sunny and warming?? That will create a lot of boats running around trying to figure out something. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Feathers and Fins Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 For those participating good luck but use caution there is a lot of floating logs and debris in the lake right now and some of it is definitely of the size that could sink a boat. Prairie creek had some rather large logs as did the area around the islands at PC up to about the mouth of Montne. There was some large Styrofoam and other strange objects around Rocky Branch and the back of Big Ventris there is a sunken boat. There will also be a large amount of waterfowl hunters out that morning so do not go running toward ducks they are probably decoys the old hatchery the last couple days looked like Bayou Meto. Also keep a sharp eye peeled for kayaks and canoes there has been a large number of people using them and some are very low profile almost impossible to see till you are on them. New boaters to the lake DO NOT run across the buoys in front of 12 bridge it will rip your lower unit off, same holds true for the cut at Larue its passable at low speed if you know where the rocks are but not worth it. My guess is 13lbs will be average bag of 5 size and it will take 16lbs to 18lbs for the win. I put 13 in the boat Sat and 14.2 in the boat yesterday My money would be on someone finding a good smallmouth bite from Starky to Rocky Branch early then having the balls to run up river to try for a kicker LMB. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
