mhowerton Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 My buddy got an invite from one of his customers to hunt over on the St. Francis flood way and brought me along with him. Hunted one of the nicest blinds I have ever seen. Two stories, heater and stove. Full service breakfast was cooked about 8:30. Big change from hunting temporary blinds built on the side of the lake.
BilletHead Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Wow and neat! That is like hunting from a grand palace. Bird Watcher Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Wow, that's pretty incredible. It reminds me of Hollywood squares.
JohnP Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Looks like quite the setup indeed, very nice.
duckydoty Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Can you imagine trying to brush that thing in? Sounds like you had a great hunt in some real style. Thanks for sharing. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
jdmidwest Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Round here, they shy away from the little 8 x 10 box blinds that the MDC builds. I normally hunt the pool but not the blind late in the season. That thing needs an elevator, you could get a heart attack climbing the stairs. Interesting piece of engineering, thanks for sharing. mhowerton Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 The blind sits against a big flood way levy over looking an 80 acre bean field which hides it somewhat. I think the key is that there are tons of ducks in that area. There were definitely ducks that flared from the blind, but enough flew over that we got some shooting. I was the first to go into the blind and the guy told me to turn on the lights when I got in. I thought he was joking, but right inside the door was a light switch that lit the whole blind up. Powered by batteries.
