BilletHead Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Oh my this is nice to see. Thanks fellows for posting and Mitch for starting this thread. Makes me thirst for the fishing to start again. For some of you it didn't stop but we take a break here to hunt some. Here are a coupe of fish I am truly happy with. Fly rod Hybrids. The Mrs. BilletHead and her first on the fly. Caught on a BilletHead made popper. One I landed on a half and half Clouser. Come on Birdwatcher I know you smashed them on the lake too. Bird Watcher Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 About half of these fish were caught in skinny water and the other half were caught in some of the biggest water around. Really looking forward to getting back up to Harry's Lake this summer and catching some more. It's the Hybrid shangri-la
BilletHead Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Thanks Chris. Nice fish. Boy your pretty tricky loosing your head and blending into the background. Seth Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Caught my best two smallmouth and best river largemouth on the Gasconade this year. We always camp at Truman State Park and fish for catfish and crappie at the end of May. Truman Dam was running water this year and we wore the 2-7# blue cats out all weekend. We probably caught 100 fish between four of us. In April, we were up at Warsaw fishing for crappie and white bass. A gully washer came through and we found a bunch of buffalo piled in to a spillway. We took our crappie gear and caught a bunch of buffalo up to 20#. It's a wonder we didn't burn our reels up! That was a hoot! Accidentally snagged an asian carp on a crankbait while fishing for bass on the Osage. It was fun fighting that on a medium action bass setup.
