Dutch Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I know nothing about them but am thinking of buying one. I have been reading about the aqua vu 760 cz. That is about my price range limit. I'd appreciate any feedback that any of you can give me about their use and or quality of any brand and model. Thanks in advance. Dutch
Feathers and Fins Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Love my Aqua-vu. strengthen the fin case for the cam with crazy glue. Pretty easy to use drop it in and see what is there. Only draw back it you spend less time fishing the first month and more time looking at the, I spent a lot of time going to all my previous GPS marks and investigating them, now when I mark something I drop down the camera see what it is and any other info I can. Lots of fun also great for looking under stumps and ledges. BEWARE if you start using it to look under ledges and stumps strengthen the drop line to 250lb cable or a flathead will try to remove it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Dutch Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 I figure on doing a lot of looking. After I bought my structure scan units, I spent a week just driving around looking and recording. I didn't even mark wpts but did go look as some of mine to see what the actually were. I'm hoping this will open up a new world like the ss did. If I buy one, I'll have to get more explicit info from you about the 2 items you listed. I'm heading out to BPS to have a hands on look/see this evening.
Dutch Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 It turns out that BPS doesn't have them in the store. They only have one with a bitty lens that I could only use under a magnifying glass. I hate to buy a pig in a poke.
Feathers and Fins Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I use the Micro its probably the one you saw, No problem with the screen size for me only issue I have with it at times is glare. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Dutch Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 The one that interests me most is the 760 cz because of the 7" screen with shade, the 100' cable, camera direction, depth measurement, and water temp. But like stated I know nothing about them. I just have some BPS gift card money to spend and this one sounds like it has bells and whistles and I'm pretty much a bells and whistles guy.
bfishn Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Unless they've improved a lot, they all have display visibility issues in the sunshine. When they fix that, you'll have a winner. The future... an 18" touch screen daylight TFT console display on a 360 swivel, powered by an underdash black box that not only does sonar/gps/gauges/video/4G live streaming, but it also has FLIR, NWS, and SWIM. Oh yeah, voice command and a virtual projected hologram of your fishing buddy (or buddyess) of choice. I can't dance like I used to.
Feathers and Fins Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 B ?????? When were you on my boat in summer to see all that? Atleast you didn't mention my Margarita Mixer and 32'' flat screen with the Blue-ray ( Shut up Doc I will watch Platoon if I want! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Dutch Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 I went a head and bit the bullet. I ordered the 760 cz from BPS. As it turns out, they don't even stock them. You make your purchase, they buy it from Accu Vu and have it shipped to your house. If it hadn't been for the gift card money, I could have eliminated the middle man and bought direct. I is supposed to be here mid to late next week. Here's hopin' for some decent weather so I can go back and look for that big ole eye.
Quillback Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.
