Like I said. Opinion and theory. Lol

I agree, Ozark craws are far different than most of what he is seeing.

I've never heard crayfish make this noise before.

but if you pick up a crawfish and shake it, which I assume they during a backwards retreat swim, their pinchers rattle their pinchers together.

well since were getting into this. I think it is partly scent and partly bass knowing where hunt them. But sound seems to help me in the fall to catch bass. I use a heavy jig and bounce it over the rocks etc on channel banks I can feel it hit the bottom hard. I learned this from a indian guide in Canada. He proceeded to produce a small 5 ft medium action spining rod. He had about 8 lb test line on it. To

this he tied what looked like a 3/4 oz jig head with nothing on it. He proceeded to drop it over the side onto the bottom and bang it up and down raising it about 4 " every time and letting it fall back. He caught walleye as fact as we did with bait. Another thing that has alway intrigued me is that bass see colors beyong our spectrum. I would think then that some color of plastic lure all fixed to look like a crawfifh may not even appear that color to a bass. To me its whatever you find that works for you. Colors overall worth is way over stated. I got faith in the brown color for bottom lures and that faith reflects from my head thru my hands and down to the other end of the line.

I tell You Doc. I use a IPad. This thing is very frustrating to say the least. i have to go back and check. after I am done then post it. it is so sensitive to touch and being left handed my hand is going over the top of the screen. But i really think it has a mind of its own. I am just maybe too dam old for this new stuff. I go back so far that the first time I drove a car with cruise control it scared me.

I sort of feel the same with this thing. BUT I bought my wife a brand new Apple computer for our 50th wedding anniversary. It had a key board and larger type. Now if she will just let me touch it.

well if they move they make some sort of noise. it would not be possible. and with a stick stuck in the face of a crawfish in a hole I would

think he would not be to happy with it. it looks to me like that is what he is doing trying to snap the stick.

I watch the drum hunt crawfish and other things in the gravel in back of my dock. very interesting and I bet the bass do it the same way. Sometimes they will go along slowly and make a abrupt turn and actually dig the crawfish or whatever out of the gravel.

That would be interesting, to watch those drum hunt craws. Those drum will really hammer a jig.

I have caught so many drum in the bottom lip with a jig... don't know why but I heard they attack it at a different angle than a bass. Never actually seen one do it.

they can be aggesive about it. they pick up rocks in there mouth and spit them out and stirs up the water around then. I a bass can do that also. but the drum has a pretty tough looking front for smashing into the gravel. In LOZ some of those dudes can weigh several pounds. I Catch a lot of drum ion jog in early spring. At that time it is kind of hard to tell if you got a bass or a drum. They fight hard in cold water.
