Don't bet your life's savings on that, Alex. There's a pretty good chance ... a really good one, in fact ... those fish were caught on an A-rig. The jerk bait bite has been tough so far this year. Really tough.

The wind definitely help my bite yesterday. Fished the same areas today with not has much success. Boated 8 bass with 1 keeper. We went slinging the Arig in other areas with little luck. However or only keeper today was on the Arig.

Yesterday out best depth was 25 to 45 right on the bottom. I mean you needed to pound that spoon on the bottoming to get a bite.

I forgot to mention that the areas we fished yesterday and today have quite a few dead shad floating. They are all really small, less than 1". The bass that were put in the boat were spitting those little shad up everywhere.

I also had a crawdad in the boat. Had to of come from a bass. Kinda weird seeing a bass buffet in your boats floor. Might be a good thing?

I figured they were caught on the Arig but seen where the winner had said he caught them on the live target jerker. I know you can't believe what people say all the time but just had me wanting to buy and try one.

Never hurts to buy and try anything, Alex, as long as it is somewhat sensible. I'd guess that Koppers jerk bait will catch fish.

We took 2nd in the Winter Bass Series Saturday, also had big bass, a great looking 7.67 lb fish. Very healthy. All of our fish came on an A Rig. Talked to some of the guy's that are good with a jerk bait and stuck with them all day and they did have 11-12 lbs. Don't know what it is but the A Rig is out fishing a jerk bait 10 to 1 right now for us. And you can throw it in the wind where a jerk bait is tough to throw and tough to work in wind like we had Saturday. It's just an awsome bait right now.

Did you guys have a bunch of bites throughout the day our bite has completely stopped after 11:00. Are you getting bit very much in the afternoon? The last two Winter Series for us has been nothing after 11:00.

We caught 15 fish, 14 were keepers. The big fish was our second fish we caught, it was about 3 hours before we caught another one. The bite has been all day for us but we just can't find a concentration of fish. You can fish one bank with nothing, move to the next cove or pocket and fish a bank just like it and catch 2 or 3 then its another hour before you catch another. This weather is killing them too, 45 one day 10 the next. There were a tremendous number of fish shallow before New Years, but ever since then there have been fewer and fewer. When the weather stabilizes they will move back up, but till then it's a grind. Just have to cover a LOT of water to get a few bites and hope they are the right ones.
